All my field reports are starting to run together in my head now. Since the week before my birthday, I have gone out Monday, Tuesday, took Wednesday off, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, took Sunday off, Monday, Tuesday, took Wednesday off, Thursday, and I'm planning on going out tonight and tomorrow night and possibly even Sunday. So please forgive me if the details are a little fuzzy.
Monday, I get a PM from PUAcasanova asking if I wanted to go out to Les Deux tonight where Blue promotes (guys from CC). He says it's rock night and should be a good crowd. I had never been out with Blue before and I had met PUAcasanova once and he seemed pretty chill, so I decided I would make the venture out.
We get to the club before it opens and I meet PUAcasanova in the parking lot. Blue meets up with us a few minutes later and we head to a little watering hole for some sake and beers to "pre-game." I find out at this first bar that PUAcasanova is not 21 and he ends up getting kicked out of the first bar. Then, unfortunately, he is also not allowed into Les Deux either. Damn, I felt so sorry for that kid. Somewhere the information got mixed up and he thought it was an 18+ night, but apparently the bouncer didn't get that memo.
Blue and I head inside where we spot a couple guys from Mystery's crew. We watch them for just a bit, but they're just chilling so we decide to check out the karaoke room. Blue and I sign up for a song each. I sing "Talk Dirty to Me" by Poison and I don't remember what Blue sang, but he was much better at working the crowd than me. We got some drinks, Blue signed up for another song, and we went to open up some sets.
Blue is a monster at opening. He always goes in super high energy and just sucks the girls into his vibe, then he focuses all that energy into a pinpoint and gives all his energy, focus, and attention to his target. Their eyes lock as if caught in a tractor beam and he has successfully pulled the girl into his own reality.
No super noteworthy sets, except Blue got a make out in about 5 minutes. He also opened 2 HB9's that were about 2 inches taller than him (in their heels) and he had them going. I thought he should have stayed longer (probably could have worked that into a pull), but he ejected to go sing his other karaoke song.
On the way to the karaoke room, I opened a 2 set standing in the hall way. If memory serves, one was about a 8 and the other was about a 6. I try Blue's method and successfully move the girls into the karaoke room to watch Blue sing. We get into the room just in time. Blue's name is up on the projector singing Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody." He tells me he's going to need some back-up for this song and drags me on stage with him. We pull the two girls up with us too, but they don't want to sing, and just dance with us for the beginning of the song and then sat on a couch near the stage. However, I saw some Venusian Arts guy come and steal them about about 30 seconds later. Haha!
This karaoke song with Blue may have been the highlight of the evening for me. When we started the song, there were only about 10-15 people in the room and probably only 2 listening to us. However, by the time we were halfway through the song, the entire room was packed. Blue was running out in the crowd getting everyone going while I was working the stage. At the slow part of the song, we got the entire crowd waving their hands back and forth and one guy even lit up his Zippo. Hilarious. We were just completely in the moment and didn't give a fuck what anyone else thought of us because we were having fun no matter what. The entire crowd got sucked into that vibe in less than two minutes. Who knew you could learn so much about pickup from one stupid karaoke song?
A couple other highlights: Blue opened a two set of HB10 hired guns right in front of Mystery's guys. It was brilliant. Those girls were standing there for over 5 minutes and not one Venusian Arts guy approached, but Blue had the girls laughing and touching him within 30 seconds. At the end of the night, Blue ended up chatting up this cougar for quite a while. I ended up finding him out in the parking lot with her. He had her in his arms and was singing Frank Sinatra and dancing with her all over the parking lot. He walked back with her group to their car, so I'm not exactly sure what happened there.
All-in-all a good night. I opened a ton of sets, though no closes. I was playing the role of "student" and watching Blue demo his skills mostly. I learned a lot and will be ready to tear it up next time.
