I'm from Aus, and i was down with a mate at his holiday house recently. Anyways, one fine day we decided to head down to the beach for some afternoon sarging. We see this girl walk past us with this guy that was twice her size and age, and presumably her father. He had some diving gear on and was heading down the pier with a group to do some swimming. The girl however went to sit on the beach.
After afew minutes, i decided that i was gonna approach her, she was a HB 8, so alil nervous. I walked up to her spot, and asked the generic:
Me: "Hi, do you know of any good places to eat around here?" (pretty cliche right?)
Her: "Nah i dont i'm not actually from here..BLAH BLAH BLAH"
BLAh
Me: "Thats ok, i have a mate over there that knows this place like the back of his hand, i actually came over here cos i thought you were cute and i wanted to get to know you abit"
Her: (rather coldly) "Oh thanks, but i actually have a fiance who's diving at the moment.."
Me (ROFLMFAO FUCK FUCK) after that i just basically got out of there after a lil bit of a story (quite stupid of me to tell it seeing she wasnt interested). Pulled out of the set with "Well, i'd better not keep my mate waiting, i'll see you later, have a good day" and i got the hell outta there lol.
So as you can see, the outcome was not the most desirable.

Hmm I voted direct and good cuz its the closest to what I would have put (direct but could have maybe been better)..

You had the balls to walk right up, so points there. And yeah, situational openers are good in daygame, so good start. Now just flat out switching it on her like that, its funny but it is really hit and miss. I mean, maybe a 35% chance she thinks, ok he is cute too it cant hurt to chat, and she appreciates the humor/directness, and probably a 65% that she isnt in the mood, isnt immediately attracted, automatically puts bitchshields up regardless, or has a bf, etc etc.

Maybe instead just try to chat with her, change the subject, etc, and try to work it into the funny zone? I dont know, its kinda hard tho without being there, and without sounding too AFC. To be honest, direct cold approaches are my worst side, I do hit up girls in the day but usually there is something a little more to go on..
