1st bar: Opened multiple sets to get warmed up. One thing that I’ve noticed is that if you ask a question like “What’s the name of this band?” “Where’s the bathroom?” “What’s a good drink you would recommend?” that it doesn’t get you very far because you are asking a very common question…Openers that cause intrigue and excitement are a lot better especially if they are delivered at high energy.

2-set: Obstacle HB7, Target HB8.5

Used “Boob Job” opener with FTC. Set opened immediately, they actually answered at the same time with the same answer. I probably should have followed up with the best friend test. Also, I forgot to do the waypoint (how do they know each other, who they are with). Told them I had a friend with flat chest who needed advice (Somewhat of a DHV, protector of loved ones?). They asked and I quote, “If she got a boob job would you fuck her?” [Shit test?] This took me off guard lol, I responded with “Well I really only see her as a friend so probably not.” I was getting IOIs from both of them. One asked my name and the other re-initiated conversation. She asked: “So, do you come here often?”. I re-framed and said, “What is that a pick-up line or something?? Come’on even I don’t use that!!. This definitely spiked their attraction. The target was less into the conversation than the obstacle. The convo came to a lull and they left saying “nice meeting you”. (tip to self: memorize this opener a little better)

I came back later to re-open them and as soon as the obstacle saw me she asked “Hey you again! What’s your phone number?” I was so shocked that she asked me this. I didn’t really know what to say lol. There was an external interrupt and I ended up having to follow the 2-set around the bar. There was a lot of confusion and I think they were pretty tipsy. They were getting very distracted and were about to leave so I just asked for the obstacle’s number. She gave it to me but turns out it was a fake # when I called it later.

Question: What should I have said after she asked for my number? Should I give it right away or should I use a C+F line and then give it? What line would be good? Is it even a good idea to give your number to a girl without getting hers?

Something that I’ve noticed is that different openers work better on different types of girls. For example, the boob job opener is pretty outrageous, it will work well for outgoing sets who are dressed scantily-clad or peacocked, but will be less effective if the girl(s) is more on the conservative side. Also, vice-versa. So calibrate your openers and they will be more successful.

I think I came off as very beta with the mass interruption and distractions in the environment…and following them around the bar for the # close. But what’s good is that my game was strong enough to have her ask for my number. In any case its better to get her number, right???

2nd bar, 2-set: Opened direct, went well set was hooked. Got to the waypoint but didn’t use FTC. Banter went well. Tried the 5 questions game. Set won, but we were only playing for fun. The target walks away and I start chatting up the obstacle. I think made a HUGE mistake by telling the obstacle that I was into the target and how I could game her… I tried number closing before they left and I got “we’ll run into each other again sometime.” I think they liked me but thought I was shady? Maybe I can use some tips in creating trust…
