| A lot guys in the community think saying "Excuse Me" is needy. They also say functional openers such as asking for the time is lame.
Well, FUCK THAT. Guess what? I've been laid thanks to functional openers and saying excuse me, as well as getting amazing dates. Of course, it doesnt work all the time, but just like using opinion openers dont work all the time.
So this happened inside Macy's. I spotted a really petite Eurasian girl.
AZ (thats my name): Hey excuse me, do you know where the shoe department is?
Girl: I think it's on the 5th floor (when I clearly knew it was on the 2nd floor)
AZ: Do you always give wrong advice to strangers so you can blow them off. Come on, I'm a nice guy I dont bite.
Girl: (laughs) Well, actually I'm not from around here. I'm from ______
AZ: Really?! (Transition into my DHV story about travelling)
Girl: Wow that's awesome. I always wanted to go to central Europe
AZ: Yeah. This is funny, I'm supposed to buy shoes for my sister yet I'm talking to an incredibly amusing girl who I'd love to get to know better. Why don't you tell me 3 things about yourself?
At this point, she rags about 3 qualities, I pluck one out, which happened to be cooking. And just listened to her talk. Can't exactly remember what she said cause I was just nodding, smiling and teasing her the whole time. It's not important because I didn't talk much after projecting enough value, since I'm getting her to qualify herself.
By the end, I used my Anti-Flake Phone Routine.
#closed her and because of my nice little anti-flake phone routine, I was able to talk to her comfortably later that night, where we set up a Day 2. She's called me since to make sure I showup.
This just shows functional openers do work! It's just the transitioning that matters. But, if you go brain-dead, you can always transition to direct. I just happened to pick up on something amusing so I played along with it. It's not very hard to transition with functional openers if you know what you're doing. I'll make a post about it soon.
As with all FRs on the internet, dont quote me word for word how the interaction with it went. But I do think it's completely accurate.
Thanks for reading and I'd love to hear some feedback.
