So, I headed out to a bar downtown with the guys earlier this week. The guys and I hung around a pub nearby first to chat, discuss and such. There are definitely a range of guys. From the most pro I've ever seen to guys on their first night. I was the guy on his first night last week, so I made of point of making sure these guys were comfortable. One of them looked so rigid and uncomfortable, but after enough talk he chilled a little. Wasn't that bad of a guy after he loosened up a bit.
We get to the club and the place is pretty sparse. Both in amount of people and density of fine girls. There were male strippers in a large curtained off area, so I could only guess thats where all the girls were. The strippers ended and the curtains were pulled back and we went on the prowl.
I winged with a guy I had just met that night, but he wasn't new, so we did all right. We opened a set together that went really poorly. I wanted to try something new I'd been rehearsing in my head. "You believe in hypnotism?" "Oh? I wanna show you something real quick" *up spin, steal seat* "Haha, I just hypnotised you and stole your seat." I've heard something like it or someones done it already, so credit to them. The biggest problem I had was there was no time constraint, no neg, no DHV, no comfort or attraction and to top it all off I got cockblocked. It was a poor routine to begin with and things just stacked on top of each other. I got a weird look from the 3 girls at the table and me and the guy decided to eject. Good move Haha. I opened another set solo and it went badly, but I figured it could only get better.
I saw this very interesting girl at one point during the night and I knew I had to open her then or sometime during the night. She was probably 7-8 but her hair was shaved down almost to the scalp. It might sound weird but it looked pretty damn good on her. I came up with a quick opener in my mind and tried to get a good angle on her, but her friend was close in front of her, so I approached at a pretty poor angle, but it seemed to work out. We'll call her "Jesse". My bud winged her friend for me.
*come in over her shoulder*
Me: Holy crap! We have the same haircut! (semi-neg maybe? Haha)
*laughs*
Jesse: OMG, no way!
Me: Why'd you decide to do that to your hair? (Neggish?)
Jesse: I work as a nurse with kids who have cancer
At this point I was like "My God". I trouble believing it, but who would shave their head for any other reason right? I didn't have time to think, but if it was a shit test I reacted poorly.
Me: Holy! Seriously? Thats so cool. I shaved my head for cancer in high school.
Jesse: Really? Thats cool.
Me: Here, I got something to show you.
I always carry my school ID with me from when my hair was super-long to show girls and get a reaction.
Jesse: OMG. Thats you?
Me: Yaah, I had a lot of hair to shave off eh?
Jesse: Oh yah.
Me: So, I didn't get your name.
Jesse: I'm Jesse.
Me: I'm ChuMp, nice to meet you. What are you celebrating tonight?
She continued to tell me she was here with friends who knew the basketball team who where all celebrating. I was wondering why that guy kept giving me highfives all the time, must've thought I was on the team. Weird haha. She thought I was on the team too. I made fun of her for generalizing all tall guys as basketball players and told her I played football instead. Would that be DHV or try-hard? Not sure.
A couple minutes of general chit-chat passed.
Me: Hey Jesse, want to go dance?
Jesse: Uh, sure. I just gotta tell my friends I'll be gone.
It was my attempt at isolation. I'm not sure the dance floor is the best place to isolate to, but I tried.
Jesse: Sorry, my friend wants to go find everyone else.
Me: Oh, no worries. I'm gonna go find my friends too.
Jesse: Ok, I'll come find you ok?
Me: For sure. We'll play Where's Waldo!
Jesse: Haha, you'll be hard to miss.
My wing hadn't managed to get a hook into her friend, so the isolation didn't go over and I got cockblocked a second time that night. No biggy. She'll find me. I went and opened another set and found some people from high school I hadn't seen in a while and got a cheap hug out of it. Talked to my buddies for a while, got some advice on isolation and DHV then found her again.
*pretending like "OMG what a surprise"*
Me: You found me!
Jesse: Heey! *she obviously had lots to drink since I last saw her*
Me: I owe you a dance!
Jesse: Totally!
We danced on the floor with some other people. She had her back to me, but in a good way, if you get me. I had my hands on her hips, and would occasionally run a hand down her arm. I attempted to spin her at one point, but in the middle she wanted to stop and face me. I made the mistake and continued to spin her around. I tried to kino with confidence but I have little experience being this far. I wanted to move off the floor to go outside, cool off and bring her along to talk and get to know her.
Me: I'm really warm. I'm gonna head outside. Come along.
Jesse: Nooo, I'm gonna stay here, you can go though.
Me: Nooo, come on outside.
Jesse: Nooo, sorry.
Me: You sure?
*nod*
Me: Ok
I figure not enough attraction and/or DHV. And it was a pretty intense hoop to jump through. I think she just figured I was gonna try to make out with her right away. I really just wanted to know a bit more about her, I was definitely interested at this point. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if I had enough IOI's at this point. I had the Eye Contact, Kino. But not much more then that. And what I had was pretty poor too. Oh well.
I walked around, re-opened a couple old sets. They go nowhere. I tried to talk to a girl from school but she was just boring and lacking energy. Too shy for my tastes. I told her I'd find her later. I didn't. Haha.
It's getting late so I decide to ditch. I got business in the morning too. I take one more crack at Jesse. I find her on the edge of the dance floor.
Me: Hey Jesse!
Jesse: Hey ChuMp!
Me: I'm outta here. I'll see you later k?
Jesse: Awww, Ok. *hug*
Me: You sure you don't wanna take that trip outside?
Jesse: Aww, no sorry. *smile*
Me: Arrite, nice meeting you. *smile*
Still the same problem, not enough attraction or comfort. Especially with a time lapse between. Probably too early and weird to be trying to isolate again. It was also pretty direct of me. I definitely broad casted my interest.
I went out that night wanting to practice isolation, and I think I definitely got the practice I wanted, and I realized I need more practice in other areas. I should practice my DHV and attraction. By moving so quickly forward I tend to be forgetting the crucial beginning steps.
I'm going to brush up on what exactly a neg is and how to use them appropriately. I also forgot to use False-Time-Constraints within the open. If anyone else noticed anything else worth mentioning please feel free to comment. Advise is allowed and encouraged.
