I was taking the plane from Vancouver to Edmonton. I was still in Vancouver when I saw a 10 sitting by herself reading a book looking bored. She looked up at me. I immediately panicked and ignored the 3 second rule. I sat down picked up a copy of the globe and mail(I don't know why) and went over to talk to her.

SlickBack: This is my first time flying could you explain my boarding pass to me?

It's not lying it's flirting.

hb nurse: Oh yeah , I've done this plenty of times

So she explained it to me and told me i could sit down next to her til it was time to board my plane. I accepted this as my first IOI.

We continued to talk about her job(shes a nurse) and unfortunately she had a husband. While we were doing this she started to play with her hair. I accepted this as IOI #2. I continued to talk to her and figured I'd go for #3 so i stopped talking and just stared into her eyes.

I think this made any approach anxiety i may of had go away. When i looked at her for those 3 seconds i saw the pain and humanity behind her eyes. I realized she's not something to fear, but instead she's human like me.

We just looked at each other for maybe 10 seconds. I tried hard not to blink or look away. This spell was broken by them calling all passengers on my flight to board. I got up hugged her and walk toward gate 24. This was my first approach and it was a 25 y/o nurse (I'm 16).

Unfortunately I didn't go for a #close as she was not only immigrating to London, but she was also married.
