| Went to the mall to practice some day-game yesterday with a mate i introduced to the game. As soon as we entered i spotted a 2-set (both HB8s and Hired Guns) hovering near the outside of a clothes shop so I opened with a Ross Jeffries opener (Humour vs Dancing). It went well and i grabbed the interest of another 2-set walking by who were friends with the original set and our 2-set soon became a 4-set (social proof was lookin good at this point). I negged the original 2-set on their response to the opener and i transitioned into the cube to engage the obstacle. This was kinda bitter-sweet cuz it had all the girls fighting for attention "do it on me, do it on me! etc". The obstacle was insisting that i try it on her first since she had to go and work. I responded: "aww, look at her shes so adorable wen she gets competitive" *kino*. Half the set broke off to talk to each other while i was doing it. When i finished i said: "yeah i usually charge for this, this shit aint for free you know.." After i had finished one of the obstacles asked me how old i was to which i replied with the typical "guess". 19 she says, close, 20? colder.. 18? bingo! [im actually 17 lol but drinking/clubbing age here is 18 so i say im 18 since i have a fake id].
I ended up explaining to the rest of the set what the cube was all about and how i had derived all the info about her personality etc which got them pretty curious. Since they all wanted me to try it out on them right then and there i left:
Me: "hey we really gotta get goin cuz we're meetin up with some friends soon but *pulls out fone* put ur numbers in and ill see if i can make time for u guys =]"
HBThusrday: "Me first!" *grabs fone begins to type in her number*
HBFriday: "Hey can i put my no. in too?"
Me: "haha geez slow down guys, no need to get competitve now.."
HBThursday: "lol what are u guys doin today?"
Me: "Picking up chicks, obviously! =P" [lol honesty is the best policy]
*laughter*
HBFriday: *while typing her # in* "cool, im off work in like 5 minutes" [IOI]
Me: "cool, hey since I have so many girls to please, u *kino on HB with the fone* can be 'friday' and u can be 'thursday'. and soon ill have 1 for every day of the week =]"
*laughter*
They ended up puttin their surnames in as "Thursday" and "Friday". I msg'd Friday after about 10 mins and she said she was making bday reservations but invited me to txt her sometime. during the txt-msg convo she asked for my name (mistake: i forgot to introduce myself to the set after #-closing, lol after learning game i have a bad habit for not introducing myself unless asked). I msg'd Thursday later that night but no response. I prob shoulda stayed in the set a bit longer and fluffed after #closing to reduce the risk of flake.
All in all, the mall was pretty dry so we only ended up opening about 3 or 4 more sets, most of which didnt hook except one who mentioned having kids lol. I used to find moving sets hard but now I can open them without any hesitation, however iv noticed that unless they were strolling at a relaxed pace they usually wont wanna talk for very long [long enough to run attraction material]. Any suggestions on moving sets? How do u demonstrate value quick enough? Also, i can see direct openers being very effective during day game, however i have no idea how to use them. Has anyone experimented with direct openers in day game? Is there any trick or is it just a matter of being direct then fluff/rapport for the next 10 mins before the #-close? _________________ "Losers always whine about their best.
