So after ive come out of a 6 year relationship (was with her since I was 16), and reading up on everything. Heres what went down last night.

I thought most of the opinion openers needed adjusting, so we were in a classy bar with some classy chicks, went up to a hb6 and hb7 and got some good opening on the go at the bar.

I had to improvise for the opener as I didn’t approach, I was already there.

Me: *grabs cocktail menu* hay ladies, which ones the best
hb's: well its quite expensive in here and there all crap *goto turn away*
me: hold on! - you don’t get off that lightly.... tut tut such a tease.. why are they so crap?
hb's: well there really weak, you should properly go for the mojito
me: so your going to guarantee that the mojito is the best on the menu, right your both getting and invoice if it isn’t I need your names for the invoice please.
hb's: well im **** and this is **** and you are?

me: About to bill you if this tastes like crap! my name is ***** so how do you guys know each other (WORKS LIKE A TREAT AT LEAST 5 MINUTES OF CONVO BUILT UP FROM THIS)

hb's: general iois about what I do and which uni I goto
me: *gets drink* OMG! looks like someone owes me an apology! this tastes like toilet cleaner
hb's: general laughing and more chat....

(Convo starts to slowly die)

me: ok you know what, have you ever done the best friend test? fuck it ill do it now... do you both use the same shampoo (WORKING LIKE I WOULD HAVE NEVER BELIVED - THEY LOOK AT EACH OTHER FIRST) Wait! you already passed don’t answer that one.
hb's:how?
me: well you both looked at each other, her first! then you. so your the bitch in the relationship then? lol
hb's: *looks soooo interested in the whole thing*

(But I didn’t have to much else to run, what else can I do cold read/esp stuff without taking a pen out or doing the cube.. which is amazingly long and needs a seated set)

I slowly ran out of conversation, I didn’t revise enough stuff before I left, I just had to close with... so which club you guys going to later? *coventrys main club* - ok cool well it was nice meeting you both see you there.

I was thinking maybe try going into a DHV story. Like tell a funny and interesting story about something that happened to you, but it needs to serve a purpose, not just fill conversation.

Welcome back It sounds perty smooth but u needed a wing to help u out I would try to get a solid wing man, exit plan for this # close is what I would have done just said well it's been Fun but I gotta go meet some friends, (now if theese bitches r hot and were ever acting above u omit friends and use this as a neg op/ cocky funny and say I gotta go meet some hot bitches), finish up with a strong confident # close on your target just look in her eyes and say we should get together for some more drinks sometime (KINO hold hand or touch) If she offers her # give her the old kiss goodbye and point to the cheek.

Nice post, I commiserate because I just got out of a 7 year relationship and I am just starting to warm up. I can't give you advice because I just started but it seems like you had the opportunity to close but just psyched yuorself out of it. I do the same thing and then end up coming back too strong and deflating the whole thing. Just like me I assume practicing more will help you crush the inner voice that sabotages you just as you get going. Good luck.

From time to time my wing likes to run "theme nights" with me. One of my personal favorites has been entitled: "make it or break it."

The key here is to either accomplish your goal, whatever that may be, or get completely and explicitly blown out of the set. This will teach you survive awkward moments. It is inevitable that you will not always have something interesting to talk about. The conversation will dwindle from time to time. DON'T WALK AWAY AT THIS POINT.

Women will walk away from you when you are talking, not when you are not. Always remember that!
