Since I recently joined this forum and got interested into the art of pick-up like 2 days ago, I decided to put my 2 days of knowledge to the test in field.

So yesterday night I went out to a club with 5 friends. 4 of them aren't really into "picking up women", and the last one (my best friend) is interested in it, but he's quite the introvert type. We all know this 1 "shy, kind, polite guy" in our group of friends, just to give you guys an image so you know what person I'm talking about.

I collected all of my courage - since I'm never eager to open a set of women (not wanting to get rejected I guess) and went in a 4-set which had an HB8 (of course, my target). I was drinking a vodka-redbull and the can of redbull I was holding in my hand was empty. I showed them my arrogant side - yet with a smile - and I opened up on them saying that it would be very kind of them if I could use their table to put my trash on. Now, 3 of them gave me a weird look, but the HB8 said it wasn't a problem. I thanked the 3 other women (ignoring the HB8 who clearly was the gentliest one to let me put my trash on their table) and went on to party on the dancefloor.

After 15 minutes I got thirsty again so my best friend and I decided to go for another vodka-redbull. I poured the redbull down into my glass so I was left again with an empty can. I took my friend with me and we went to the same table where I put my waste a bit earlier. Surprise, surprise, the same girls were still standing there. Arrogant as I am (lol), I put my empty can of redbull on their table again, and thanked the HB8 this time. I opened up with a routine that I picked up from this forum, "the straw opener", which was the perfect scenario since all drinks in the club are served with a straw in them. I then switched to a story (yet again one I got from this forum; "the G-string opener") and asked for the opinion of the HB8. She found my opener and story quite amusing and started talking to me about herself, after which I asked her name (Stephanie) and properly introduced myself as well. I gave her a few negs about her studies, her job and her hometown (she didn't find these offensive as she was laughing kind of approving). Then I used "the 5-lies-routine" (by Style) and got her at the 5th question; it then occured to me that women, and just people in general, love being tested and love playing these little games. We had a pretty good conversation, we were together for like 2 hours; we talked, we danced a bit and she even got me a drink after I won a game we played! Overall I would say: good job to myself!

Before going homewards, I tried to k-close, and we kissed like half-cheek & half-lip. I didn't feel bad though, because she seems like a really nice girl and I wasn't expecting to k-close her right away. I got her number, got her facebook, and we agreed to meet somewhere next week.

But, however, I feel it's self-explanatory to have a look at the mistakes I made during my first night as a newbee PUA!
1. My game took way too long (2 hours, really?!)... I felt bad for myself when going homewards, because there were so many more sets in the club which I could have opened up on.
2. I ignored the friends of my target which isn't really a positive thing... I should have had a chat with them as well or asked their opinion on certain topics that I was talking about with the HB8 and/or disagreed with her.
3. I used more than 1 opener on her and should have ran through more routines (the Cube would have been a great one, but didn't use it).
4. At a certain point I was getting a drink from the bar and when I came back, another guy was talking to her, I should have introduced myself and should have tried to eliminate his presence by asking how long they had been together or something like that, but I felt like this wasn't necessary because she didn't seem interested into him. Now, I don't know if this is to be considered as a "mistake" I made, but I would be most glad to hear from you guys!
