I have only been in Barcelona for a couple of weeks and I don't have a wing yet (PM me if you're interested!). I was out at the casino to start off, but it was super difficult to sarge as most of the girls were Chinese and very cliquey (probably married). So I have a few drinks and a little gamble to get fired-up for the night. This works really well if you win, not so good if you lose, but at the end of the day I was alone so I had to get a little buzzed somehow.

Anyway I gave-up about midnight and went to a night club that was playing 'deep house'. There I had no problem opening some sets, even with the noise and the language barrier. I have played poker for a living for 6 years and have mastered body-language and verbal tells. I was feeling confident armed with this and was quickly able to isolate a HB8 and started building attraction. She was physically attracted and I could tell. But she wasn't super turned on or anything and I think she was sober.

However, I soon started to run into problems. I couldn't maintain her initial excitement level from my open, canned routines were a no go as she only spoke broken English. So to keep things from stalling I tried to kiss her an she backed off!! NO. Loads of other potential sets probably noticed this too.

So I froze her out, but this didn't have much effect as I was alone and I just ended-up leaning on the rails around the dance-floor alone with my drink. When we met again (I forget who approached who, as I was getting drunk at this point) she asks ''where are you friends''. FUCK. I said something about them being on the dance-floor, which she probably didn't believe and it would have just lowered my value anyway ('why are his friends avoiding him?').

Then she wanted to go outside for a smoke (is this good or bad sign?) I followed her and we made some poor conversation. This was mainly due to the lang barrier, but also because my confidence in being able to recover this set was draining fast, I'm sure she could see it in my body-language. Things were not going anywhere and I felt a little awkward so I just said bye and just walked off down the street. I didn't even manage to number close. (Then things really took a turn for the worse, but I won't go into that here).

I would appreciate some pointers on building excitement and closing the deal.
