This is the second time i have picked up a girl on a bus ride home on a GO bus. I was sitting on the bus with some chick and kinda bored of listening to my music and so i decided to talk to her it was a bit hard to force my self to do it but...
I mustered up the courage, and tapped her and asked "hey r u gonna sleep on the bus?" she says no. so anyways we start talking and it was a bit of a boring chat i played one game with her to kind of get a fun vibe going, but honestly i felt uncomfortable and stuff and i think i conveyed that but in the end i still got a number and she double checked to make sure it was the right number. I also arrange to meet her next week for lunch.

So i get out and i dont message her until sunday btw i got the number on friday. so the conversation started out by me saying "Hey, hows your weekend going?"
her: "Lol good! My fiance ended up coming from new york to plan a surprise with the fam for my birthday. Yours?"

me: "u r engaged????"

her: "yea i am and lol so? Im happy with it, why are you so judgemental lmao"

me: "No I'm just saying its a bit of a surprise for me since u gave me your number and also said yea to going for lunch on tuesday", "Was it arranged?"

her: "i've known him since i was a baby. we/re family friends. & Lol what are you trying to say? I dont see how me being engaged has anything to do with giving someone my number/having lunch."

me: "A random guy that finds you extremely attractive asked for your number... does that ring any bells?!!!"
" but i guess i'll be happy with just a friendship lunch considering the situation lol"

her: "... no it doesnt because im not a mind reader, i didnt know thats why you're talking to me. i was being nice and i thought you were too. Now if thats the only reason you were talking to me i dont think i wanna get involved with all this, sorry"

me: "Lol you r so honest!!! I like that... yea that's fine with me i'm not trying to ruin a relationship here that was never my intention... but i'd still be happy if we could grab lunch sometime if that fine with you"

then she never replied back until i said something but the rest of the conversation is lost. I said something abt like the only reason i talked to u was bcuz i was bored and w.e but either way in the end she just said i dont wanna mislead u bullshit ...
but I just want your opinion on this how could i have fixed that from the **Star** point cuz thats where it went all downhill and lost everything, and just in case i end up in that situation again how can i get out of it...

You practically forced her to confront the situation. She probably did know why she gave you her number and was looking for some sort of logic to justify the meeting/number exchange. Who knows? Her fiancé could have been reading that.

You could just say lesson learned! I don't think there's much to salvage this if you don't see her in person again.
