Ok just to recap: Project Essex is newly formed by myself Curiosity, Mr Freeze, and S0u1throb. You can see the earlier posts and Mr Freeze's field report.

Tonight was the first night that we had gone out as a full set, after Curiosity and Freeze hit the town on Wednesday.

We all met at said chain bar in town. The bar was a lot busier than it was when we originally met. The game started, Freeze was straight onto a table of 3HB's, we then set curiosity onto a debatable HB10 and her friend.

In my opinion she was stunning, Curiosity grabbed a seat and sat with them and used the 'where is the best place to go opener'. From an observation point of view, they turned towards him and were giving him the usual IOI's and i personally believe he could have got a number close or at least a pre-emptive venue bounce if he had opened up his body language. he ended the conversation and the girls actually watched him leave and rejoin us.

I felt I had to open, I know the theory pretty well but field testing is new to me. So I did the 3 second rule and walked to the bar, found a HB7 and HB6 standing there.. I built myself up to this:

me: ladies stop right there
HB6: evening
me: look my friends are down for the night and i wanna show them a good night out whats the best few places a couple of stylish girls like you would take them
BOTH GIRLS: (turn straight onto me facing while HB7 plays with her hair) Bar X and Bar Y
me: well you both seem pretty cool i wouldnt have put you down for indie chickes
them: *laugh* well you should all come XY with us
me: Ill tell them we are going out with you girls then
them: Laugh*

I then followed them back to their table as we were seated in the same quadrant.

as we left, they left and i caught a hug from one of them, but turned out they had boyfriends. the thing i noticed here, and most the night is that 8/10 times the boyfriend will stand back and let you chat to their GF.. unless they AMOG you... i had strong body language, which may have helped this


Bar No2... before we got there, S0u1throb opened a 6 set of HB7-8's. It was a simple ice breaker about where to go, but upon reflection we could have bounced with them. S0u1throb ducked out, happy to break the opening seal.

Once inside bar No2 I opened up a 4 set with a 'does my shirt look like it has a huge flower on it' they all laughed as i got a neg wing from curiosity

The bar wasnt a great gaming spot in all honesty, but freeze somehow managed to sit with a 3 set of HB(id say 5-7). We gave him ten minutes and i walked over to tell him we were leaving. I ended up sitting with him and got chatting to a HB6, who was clearly intoxicated beyond gaming.

HB:Hi there whats your name
me: well that would be telling,
HB: my name is XY, come on whats yours
me: my name is XY (shake her hand with mine above hers
hb: so what do you do
me: im into architecture
hb: OH right so where in the world have you been before
me: i have been to XY XY XY, but would really love to go to XY
hb then started shouting at me, I mean this was the ultimate bitch test as she didnt even know what she was saying. after she trailed on and on:
me: wow i tell you what i love a girl with a bit of aggression
her: *laugh* *playfully hit, and then fall over in a slump
me: so have you been to paris
her: yeah, have you
me: Id love to go, there is something about it that just gets my senses going, you kind of stand in a place and you can feel the beauty and culture it holds.
THis should have worked pretty well but she then went into another rant about how i can do XY as a job if i hadnt been to paris.

I digress but it basically ended up me losing my power as her friend interviened and got on the aggression to. I felt angry, i wasnt even gaming them and they had shot me down. I handled it gracefully and said goodnight to the ladies but they taught me a lot about how to act. One of the girls said i needed to be a bit more confident in myself. It has always been a sticking point, and further proof that you can start out confident but if you let it drop for one second, they will tear your face off....

Freeze assured me that she was just drunk and i should learn from it and we moved onto the final bar.

S0u1throb: opened with a car opener, got smiles but cut it short, he opened another few with the same outcome. His goal was to open and stop it at that point, so he did really well. As someone who has been on the field with him, he is going to be amazing once he drops his barrier.

Curiosity: Opened a fair few, my personal favourite being the twirl direct opener, on a 2 set that I had opened with an 'Arnie or Stallone' opener. We winged a couple of times with 'who looks more gay'.. worked 4/5 times, the last time a target he had opened earlier loved it, the other two friends were uneasy and walked off.

Freeze: Opened a few in the bar, was unsure what lines he used but with freeze its more about his stature. he is a very cool and almost fluid moving guy. He left to finish an F close (see his lay report).

Me: I opened 4 sets with 'arnie or stallone, bowie or hendrix, what music would you make love to'... All girls were friendly and showed IOI's but the transition from that failed as i said 'have a good night'... Freeze pushed me into opening a HB8, which was my best pull of the night. Picture hot girl dancing while her grumpy faced friends monged on a big sofa.

Me: hey, arnie or sly?
her: erm... arnie i think
me: Why?
her: well he has had less work, why?
me: people usually say sly because he is richer
her: well im not about money at all, im more about feeling
me: Well you look a stylish girl, who oozes class, i just had to see if your personality matched
her: and does it (IOIS - hair fiddling, smiling, eyes to lip view)
me: well so far it does. my name is XX
her: hand shake my name is xx
me: wow thats a nice name, look i have to get back to my mates, but ill be back for you later
her: laugh, hug: ok then
before i left the bar i went up to her and shouted her name and said 'XX come here before i go i promised you a hug and kiss
Got a brief cheek kiss and hug, she also remembered my name and everything about me and what i had said previously.

I could have closed this with a number but bottled it

we finished up with a closer each and left for the night.



Reflections:

learn to transition from opener to rappor
have more confidence in myself
relax a bit more
watch body language more
Opening is an easy trait and the girls are 9/10 friendly but I have to get into pushing it further, maybe by being more direct in my confidence.

all in all a good night, we all got somewhere and all critiqued eachother. Sarging with like minded people is the best way to get into this.
