Oki this is an report from an OLD thing which happened around 6 months ago but I remmembered while reading the forum. It is a note of how important is to know about social practices where you are. I went to Nantes in France for a friends birthday party and we decided to go out. While in the party a girl came to me and asked me for a lighter. As I don´t smoke I simple replied (with a gesture since I dont speak french) well I got no lighter. The girl simply seemed to frown and walked away a little upset. At the same time a girl next to me (friend of mine) throwed all she had on the purse on the floor looking for a lighter. So I learned that in Nantes there is a saying that asking for a lighter (when done by a girl to a guy or guy to a girl) you end up sleeping with the person. Something like that more or less in this idea.
But the trully amazing part of the history get when a dude seeing that the girl asked me for a lighter and I said I had no lighter runs for her with a lighter and she turns it down and gets a lighter from her pocket
