Here's a quick guide on how to throw a succesfull party
Venue:
1. NETWORKING. Get to know people who know people, in fact, get to know everyone, your security can screen the hot chicks and the fugly ones at the door.
2. ENGAGE PEOPLE. Make them feel as if they are a part of the party, one easy way of doing this is crazy dress codes. Another way is by letting 3 good looking and connected women, and three good looking and connected men in for free in exchange for some mouth2mouth advertisement.
3. IRON MAN FRAME. This one is a little tricky, and many need a lifetime to perfect this. Another term for this is excellent charm. We all know how to play women, but do you know how to play men? How to get them to look up to you? The easiest way is to acknowledge their success and compliment them, most of men live to make their fathers proud, and most of their fathers never acknowledge their success, so if you take that figure for you, and tell them how you're really proud of him and his success, he'll cling on to you forever.
4. CONCEPT. Make sure you've got a great concept, with few money you can do a lot of stuff that's never been done before. [for example; build a shower that sprays champagne]
5. PHOTOGRAPHER: The best advertisement are facts. Make sure you've got a great photographer who takes pictures that will later circulate around facebook.
6. FREE STUFF [free shots, free candy, free icecream] a lot of these things can go through sponsoring.
7. WOMEN. Make sure there are at least 60 percent women. This can go through free entrance in the beginning, and/or denying the entrance for a lot of men.
houseparties:
Easy
Announce it early, make sure you've got a lot of mouth 2 mouth advertisement. Invite only women [atleast 40 or so, men will follow automatically] Make sure you've got enough booze, no booze = no party. Unless you've got a DJ as a friend, put your ipod on shuffle, because DJ's can get really expensive. Dim the lights, be active on your own party. It costs 50 dollar to hire someone to clean up after everyone, you're playing the role of host, your job is to get to know people. Buy pizzas or whatever to still people's hunger.
Rule of thumb:
Living room = place where people chill.
Kitchen = place where people drink and socialize
Garden = place where people smoke, don't let anyone smoke inside, i've seen shit caught on fire
Put away everything valuable, people will steal your stuff if they don't know you. Leaving the house almost empty can give you the opportunity to go wild [spray people with champagne etc]
Don't charge door cover, but make sure that everyone brings a bottle of booze. Most of the time there will be leftover booze that you can use for your next party. [I have gathered over 40 bottles of champagne through this
]
Make a facebook event and make it attractive to people, what I always place as a description is:
"I am in no way liable for blackouts, hangovers, champagne drippin' clothes, flying corks, champagne battles, people getting pregnant etc...
You were warned, this IS an alcoholic party, if you ain't takin' shots, get the fuck out!"
