Small history about me

I am a 21 year old university student in Australia who started doing day game 4 weeks ago.
Right now, I am pretty confident in stopping a girl but don't know what to do afterwards.

What I do now

Do the front stop.
excuse me, can I tell you something really quickly? (she replies)
I saw you walking past by, and I think you are really cute. So, I had to come here and say Hi.

within the first week of day game this was all I could do and I go blank and the girl leaves.

Past 2 weeks I was trying to make assumptions about the girl to keep the conversation going.

If she is dressed creatively, I say "you look like someone who does something creative for a living"
or, you look like someone who stays in an office.

Then I make assumptions about what she does for fun. "you look like someone who loves the outdoors, someone who likes to read books with coffee. etc.

Then I run out of things to say and she leaves.

Theory side I follow

Earlier I fell into the trap of reading too much theory and not doing real work. I am over that now. I was following only one product "day game blueprint by andy and yad" Then see how it works, rather than cramming all this theory.

I haven't really posted online before. All game guys I met in my city tells me not to use scripted dialogues. They tell me to just go out there with a blank mind and speak up. I tried this was the first week but It doesn't work for me. So, I started coming home thinking about my approaches and writing down responses. what should I have said differently. But they advice against it. The problem is I am not good at conversation. I major in computer science and it is rarely social.

So, what do you guys think I should do? Keep practicing making assumptions. The general advice I get from guys is "get to know her, be yourself, if you run out of things to say just say that, etc.

But I am looking for advice on specific things to talk about.

Been watching some Youtube pickup vids I assume.

Try this; Talk about yourself a bit; it speaks volumes; shows you as a man of value.

To open, try talking about anything going on in the immediate area rather than the focus on her, her, her.

For instance: "Why is that fire hydrant green?" Or WHATEVER is going on / WHATEVER you see in the general area.

What you say doesn't matter anyway: Your eye contact and demeanor tell her all she needs to know that your intentions are not to be her BFF.
