Hey guys, first post here.
So the deal is this, I was out with my friends last night, and my best friend (HB8) tells me shes gonna hook me up with this girl she works with (HB9). So she grabs my phone and punches in a number, and i send this text to her.


I am 20 years, HB9 is 18.

"Hey, this is (HB8)'s best friend, (HB8) told me i should send you a message
So, what are you up to tonight?
Alex"

So the textmessaging goes like this:

HB9: "Oh Hi! hehe, ok. I am on my way to eat some kebab. mmm What are you upto tonight?"

Me: "Im out with some friends, im working early tomorrow, so im the driver.
Me and HB8 are on our way into town now, maybe we will meet you guys at the kebab house then "

HB9: "Hehe, cool. Yeah, maybe you will "


So me and my friend (HB8) drives into town, and meet her and her friends at the kebab house.
They are apparantly in a hurry, so HB8 introduces, me and HB9 shakes hands.

When i get home, i send her a new message.

Me: "How was the kebab? Im off to bed, have to wake up in 3 hours to go to work. So how long have you been working together with HB8?"

HB9: "Kebab was nice. Oh, thats not much sleep, have a nice night. Nighty"

1 minute later, another text comes.

HB9: "Ive been working there since march "


So i fall asleep and go to work the next day at 5.

At about 13:00 i send her a new message.

Me: "Haha, im so lucky, no alarms at work today so i slept in the office for 6 hours, payd
What school do you go to? And what kind of?"

Yes, i know i know, afc questions. Its hard to come up with stuff to say on the fly like that!

HB9: "Haha, you jerk! Where do you work?
I go to (insert school), music school. I sing!"

Me: "I work as a security guard, i drive around in the car and listening to music. What kind of songs do you sing? I regret not going to music school myself..."

HB9: "Sounds nice!" Oh, do you play an instrument? What school did you go to?"

Me: "I went to "school #1, #2, and #3, then 1 year in the army. And i play the guitar, been playing it for 7 years now."

HB9: "Oh, cool! I play the piano, and i sing "


So i cut of there. Its been about 10 hours since last message.

What do you guys think? Where did i do wrong, and where did I do nice?
Where do you think i have this girl?

I'm not seeing any negs in there, you're being a little too nice and ordinary. Something I use on students is "What do you want to be when you grow up?"

There seems to be IOI there and social proof from HB8's recommendation, so one or two negs should be enough, but you have to move towards picking up the conversation in person at a time and place of your choosing, and do it soon.
