okay so heres the background info:

I have a passion for dancing (specifically, a style called popping), and through my practices in it, my knowledge of things related to it has grown (things like: learning about breakdancing, learning different dance groups, etc.)

my friends and i are chilling in the main quad of our school (public college), laughing, talking. we had been there for an hour or two, laughing loudly, having a good time.

eventually, this HB 7.5 comes up (i believe she was an acquaintence/friend of someone in the group) and i didn't really pay much mind to her at first. then she mentions

hb: oh, and im a DJ.

bam, my head clicks and i just go off talking with her about every little aspect i have a passion for that stemmed from dancing and some of the people i've met.

after i stimulate the conversation a bit more:

hb: hey, i should give you my number and you can [call me] for when something comes up.

so i get her number, and she sticks around for another half an hour or so, and we just continue talking about our hobbies in the hip-hop world. when she leaves, she says "call me up if anything is going down or whatever:

my confusion is this: she sent a handful of IOIs, but she also didn't really catch on to me till i started fluffing our hip-hop conversation. im thinking i may have got her number because she thinks i can help her with her DJing, rather than maybe i managed to pull this girl.


i'm pretty new to PUAing. fellas, should i congratulate myself, or just think i have another practice-buddy?

if indeed its my first knotch on the belt, then: this was yesterday, when should i call her?

Good job. Nothing better than having mutual interests. That was a real number close. I'd call sooner rather than later. There is no special time, just keep it real, don't be needy or nervous, and for your first "date" maybe meet at a club, let her have a few drinks, and try to kiss close. Just keep building rapport, play it cool, and escalate gradually.
