rAFC here. Been studying these forums, read The Game and Mystery. I'm so inspired by this stuff I've written an iPhone application to serve as a cheat sheet. Anyway, here is a list of openers I just made up on the spot.

I was out with a friend, his friend and his girlfriend.

(She was talking with lots of hand gestures)
HB8: How much Italian blood do you have?
She: None (kind of a bummer but I thought quickly on my feet
HB6: (to her friend) What about you, how much Italian blood?
Friend: None, (Again bummer, if she had said she had any I would have said HB6 must have taught HB8 how to speak with her hands.

Result: Didn't stick. Went back to my group and played it off like they didn't pass my test. They didn't get my joke that I was referring to HB8 talking with her hands like an Italian.

Me: To 4-set. Singled the one with her back to me and said she had great posture and that the other girls could learn from her.
HB7: Thank you!
HB8: What do you think she is like judging my her body posture?
Me: I don't know, assertive, confident, fit.
HB8: Really, what about her body language made you think that?
Me: Hmmm, I don't know. Maybe its the way her shoulders are perfectly parallel to the floor but she is not just standing super straight up. Most girls dip one shoulder and that makes them look weak.
...I was in from there.

(She was wearing some short dress that seemed to be inspired by how a girl looks when wearing a man's dress shirt.
Me: Thank you for modeling what you would look like in my t-shirt
HB8: <Smile> Walked on, didn't hook. Got some social proof though.

(The filled with East Asian and Asian folks. To a degree unusual even in the middle of Silicon Valley
Me: You are white, can I stand here and hang with you.
She: (Got totally pissed, turned away toward her friend.
..needless to say, conversational hook but I could feel the emotional hook.

(Super tall girl. I'm 6'3" so that can work for me)
Me: What are you 6'1" without heels.
HB7: Yes. (Smiled cause I guessed correctly and was tall myself)
Me: Did you play basketball or volleyball in high school?
HB7: No. I went to school locally...
...hook was in. Got blown out later when I mentioned the work 'immasculate' Didn't matter the context, I think just the word set off alarms.

(My friend happened to have really long hair and we got on the subject of how long it takes to dry.)
Me: How long does your hair take to dry?
HB7's and 8's: ??? then mostly they said around 2 hours.
...didn't hook much but gave off social proof.

(Since my friend is rather unique looking, long hair, cowboy boots made of ostrich leather and with a chrome tip.
Me: (To a group of HB's) Where do you think he is from.
HB's: They all had different guesses then they all seemed to synchronize on Austrailia.
...hooked.. ran with it for a little while before negging them that they all thaught alike too much for me. (maybe that was more of an insult, oops.)

(Despite it getting kind of cold lately, she was strapless and tan (with a cute tan line too
Me: You look like you just came from Hawaii
HB7: I did actually! I'm from there and just got back from visiting
... hooked...
Somehow she guessed my age dead on! Said she worked for the FBI, blah blah blah.

The bathroom in this place were very odd. The wash sinks were kind of open with the men's and women's sinks in one open area facing each other.
I opened a few girls about how weird these bathrooms were.


So, opening went really well. Not all sets opened but many did. Nary an AA. I stayed alpha, strong inner game etc. Had fun and that was all that came naturally for me that night. Goal for another nights is to open fewer but higher quality sets and move them out of A2.
