Hi midweek I found myself in Londons queensway at about 9.30 alone, I decided to do some approaches this is what happened after I identified a pub/bar.

Went to bar, introduced myself to barmaid and bought a bottled beer, looked around bar saw the following;

HB 8 and a friend (too polite to score her) at a high table near the door seated facing each other on the same side,

HB7 redhead and HB8 black girl opposite side of room seated across a table from each other with two vacant chairs.

six set of 4 HB5-8 and two guys stood around a central pillar table in the middle of the room

I approached the two set near the door, went and leaned on their table slight angle towards HB8's friend;

Me Hi Im just waiting for some friends so cant stay long, but are you guys from around here?

HB8 no (American accent) we arent just visiting

Me (ignoring accent) OK, its just that I was looking for a good chinese resteraunt for me and my friends to go to, but you cant help (big shrug)

HB8's friend 'I would be willing to lie convincingly if that helps,

Me Im not sure it does ha ha

HB8 she has been here like 3 times and its my first time

Me (ignoring HB8) well despite being prepared to lie for me, I guess you guys cant help (face them both hands spread) ha ha thanks any way

At this point I cant think of anything to say to progress convo, so:-

Me Well thanks guys anyway,

I leave and go outside for a smoke

On way back in

Me hey HB's friend I never thanked you for being willing to trash your morals for me haha

HB' friend hey no problem any time haha

Me freeze and leave with a bye now.


I walk straight over to the 7 and 8 two set

Me Hi cant stay long meeting some friends shortly, dont know if you can help but are you from around here

HB8 black girl Im not my friend lives here

Im in the middle leaning on ther table turn to HB7 and find she a HB 8-5 at least

Me Im supposed to be recommending a chinese restaeraunt to some friends when they join me can you suggest a good one

HB 7 now 8-5 ' yes bla bla bla

HB8 black girl, theres one I always take clients to ( i ignore her, she continues to interject)

HB7 now an 8.5 that is the best one but you cant really go wrong apart from the all you can eat for a fiver ones haha

Me haha ok ( frozen now) well thanks ladies see ya soon (and leave)


I cant think now of a way into the six set despite the hottest girl talking loudly about taking guys for a ride and letting them buy her drinks yaddayadda in a loud voice.

My question is was the approach ok was the opener needy or weak, was the timer constraint poor as really I wasnt meeting anyone.

How would you guys progress from the opening
