FR++: Wednesday Night Pickup

My friend Ben (Fealinlucky) are chatting on the phone debating about going out after a date cancelled on me. Shannon from field reports 84,83,53 is still interested and wanted to come over. However, her friend had a mini crisis and Shannon had to be there. Understandable....
We decide that since the weather is nice and we haven't done much on Wednesday night let's give it a shot, worse case scenario we come home early. Ben swings by as I'm still getting ready to head out. We have a glass of Lemon Cello listening to rock/rap music preparing ourselves for the evening.
Finally, we jump in his car and head downtown. He cranks the music, and I force myself to center my mind. I have just been let down on a date, and my past girlfriend was messaging me online. My head isn't where it should be yet. I focus and block out the rest as he's driving. I clear my head, open my eyes, and rock out to some music!
We hit downtown and start walking. It's dead, which is to be expected but it's about 11:30 or so. We enter into Karma but there is about 30 people there and it's not that great. There is a interesting two set at the bar but we decide not to open them cause there isn't much to do, besides they are chatting with some guys. We stay for just a few minutes to be seen, and head out.
Ben is getting texts from a hired gun that we know who works at both McFadden's and Karma that we frequent. She is at Hollywood Disco across town a bit and wants us to swing by. We have nothing better to go on, we jump in a cab and head over. I have never been in this place, but I like the layout. There are about 50-60 people in the place most of which I recognize as hired guns for the places around town, and a local radio personality was there too. We get in get some drinks, find our friends and hang out.
It isn't long after we get there that the group we meet up with wants to bounce back to Karma. We hop into one of the girls cars and head downtown again. We all walk into Karma 3 girls / 3 guys. We greet the people we know in the place and Ben and I start talking. The place isn't much busier but we figure we'll hang out for a while. There isn't much going on.
I spot Greg who is one of the normal bartenders for the place, and he's having a drink off work. I go over to say hi to him at the back part of the bar. When I do I see this cute two set. The blonde in the set is talking to some guys. I hold eye contact with her, smile, and she smiles back (forced IOI). Mental Note of this. And go over to greet Greg for a few minutes. I roll off to see Ben, blonde is still talking to this guy.
Talking to Ben we see the guy roll off a bit but he's still around. I realize they aren't together and start making plans to open her. I figured since I have IOIs already it should be direct for the most part. I'm hesitating some and I know it, Ben calls me out on it. She's texting on her phone so I don't want to open her yet. Plus guys are opening her friend and not her. I realize they are doing the "ignore the target" work for me. I wait a few more to let it sink in.
Ben is mocking me a bit, so I say Fuck It, and go over to her. Smiling, Eye Contact, Direct "I saw you over here. You look pretty cool....you seem almost bored...so I wanted to come see what you are all about, I'm Jon." She smiles extends her hand and introduces herself as Katie. I have a bar stool chair in between us, her back is to the bar. As we start talking her friend stops talking to the guy she's speaking with for long enough to tell me I look familiar. She's a bartender in Cadillac Ranch and recognizes me. Small world.
I go back to talking to Katie and she's telling me about herself instantly qualifying to me. I'm 24 years old, I'm a chemistry major, pharmasist, etc. I give her some personal information about me as well and then we start talking about the basic stuff. I'm branching and building off these topics as they come up being very natural.
About that time I see an opening between the two girls. I lock in with my back to the bar between them and continue talking to Katie. About this time Ben comes over and we're talking about how they are both from Michigan and stuff like that. He does a great job getting some intial rapport with her, staying at my energy level, and making her laugh as I have been. It was damn near flawless, and then he rolls off.
I have her take a seat next to me on the stools and talk some more. I am touching her off and on through everything. I make sure to keep my hands in front of me to make it easier to touch her and make it more natural. She is flipping her hair, reinitiating conversations, touching me back, great eye contact, etc. There is no way she's not into me.
I ask her something like, "How often do you get approached like this? Because you must get tired of it." She says, "Actually, I don't that much..." Me, "Oh come on..." She tells me the few times she has been. I ask her why she thinks men come over to talk to her. She tells me like her smile, boobs, and body. I tell her well none of those is why I came over. (Seperating myself from the others) I say, "Two reasons...One when I walked by we shared that moment looking at each other and smiled, do you remember? *nods* Second, you exhuberate an energy about you, you seem like a positive person with a good outlook you know. It radiates from you." She tells me, "I really try to live my life like that." (Hooked)
I know it's going to take a lot to screw up from this point. It's just a matter of riding out the rest of the evening and seeing where it goes. Since I have already checked for logistics I know she is giving her friend a ride. I know it's impossible for a lay to happen. I'm going to work for a kiss, #, and Day 2 are my goals now. I continue to run my connection building conversation...talking about family, goals, past experiences, etc.
It's getting near closing time. I ask her a question, "So you aren't some crazy stalker chick right?" Her, "No." "Well since that has been established how are we going to continue to talk to each other." Her, "By Phone." She puts her number in my phone and calls hers with it. We enter each others names. I fluff talk a bit and then setup for the Day 2. We agree to go to the Renassiance Fair this weekend, we've both never been to one.
A bunch of our friends want to go to Buck Wild. We close the place down and leave Karma. I shake hands with Souri the owner of the place and thank him for the drinks he bought for me and Katie while we were there. He is a very nice guy.
We walk behind the group as we leave the club. We are walking arms around each other. I get my first chance to really see her body because I keep solid eye contact I don't really look that close. I am really impressed and my heart starts pounding a bit. I take her hand as we are walking and we're laughing and having fun. I keep teasing her that I can't help touching her, that she's so hot, I can't help myself, and just being playful. We go up second avenue towards Buck Wild. Everyone is inside but us. I stop her in the street and kiss her.
We walk in and find our friends. Ben is talking to the hired guns he knows.
After a bit of being in Buck Wild. I am spinning her around, having fun, introducing her to a few people I know in there. She is talking to her friend some whispering back and forth. I call her out on it and ask what it was about. IT's about me. She says her friend think highly of me and thinks we should continue to hang.
Nice! I have her friend DHVing me, this is excellent because I know when she leaves with her eventually her friend is doing my work for me.
I ask her frend if I can borrow her for a minute. As general rule I don't seperate a two set but this is different. Her friend has a guy to talk to, and I have all the comfort I could need with this set. I take her hand and go to the back to the stools. We talk more there getting more in depth. This guy wants to draw her for money which is cool. He does a great job btw. She is really having a great night and I am too, I really am starting to fall for this girl.
The place is closing, and this is the bar that is opened the latest. We are some of the last people to walk out of the place. We start heading towards her vehicle. Her friend is in front of us. It's obvious she doesn't want to say goodbye. But she has to leave because of her friend. When her friend crosses the 4 lane street she is still there talking to me. Her Friends hollers at her, we kiss, hug, promise to talk and she leaves. It is very late around 3am.
Ben and I talk at his car about what was going on. He tells me there was a shooting on 2nd ave near where we were! He wants to get out of the area and I don't blame him.
Texting after I get in the car through out the night.
(Picking up my phone to text her, she beat me to it.)
Katie: Nice to meet you!
Me: Pleasure meeting you too. You're the coolest HERD I have ever met.
LOL
Katie: HERD..we'll have to change that word.
Me: Awesome..we'll change it to ace...amazing, cute, enthusiastic
Katie: Nice. Better than herd.
Me: Yes thank you I try. I am still embarrassed I said that, total foot in mouth moment. (Not really, but she took it the wrong way, so I'm padding this.)
Katie: Minor moment of foot in mouth. It's cool though.
Me: Thanks for understanding, have a great evening.
Katie: Evening? Morning..
Me: Not sure. Either way have a pleasant one. (I was tired)
Katie: I plan on it what are you doing tomorrow?
Me: Well we have the day off, i'm not sure ye. But I'll totally take suggestions.
**No Response for a few minutes** Realized I should lead this....
Me: It is suppose to rain,
Do you play pool?
Katie: Sometimes yeah
Me: Awesome. well I'm no expert but their pool is free til 7.
(Time Delay) Katie: Sorry, just had a heart to heart with Britt
Me: No worries, everything ok?
Katie: Yeah.. Long story short is I've been in love 2 times in my life. One is 8 year ex and other died in October so we talked about that.
Me: Wow I don't really know what to say. Except that I enjoy your company. I'm not sure where this will end up. But I'm enjoying this happy moment in life.
ME: BTW, for facebook try jon xxx xxxxx ( she tried to find me earlier on her phone)
Katie: It's just best friends chatting. Her and I have a lot in common so we wre just talking. I'm really a happy person..just needed to talk to my friend.
Me: Makes perfect sense.
I had a long chat with ben too, mostly about you. All good stuff
Katie: And what was said?
Me: Just that he though a lot of you and got a good vibe from you. And asked me what I thought of you. (Setup much???)
Katie: And what was that? ( Glad she didn't disappoint me_
Me: Lo. You know this is a little unfair, since I don't know what you and brit were whispering about me all night.
Katie: All she said was ur a really good guy and I should give you a chance cuz ur nice.
Me: Okay, and how do you feel? Was there that attraction you look for? Did you connect with me on some leve? Am I some crazy stalker guy?
Katie: Good, yes, yes, and no. At least I think last is no.
Me: Great. Well there you have it. I told ben I was unfraily attracted to you, that we clicked and I wanted to see you again
Katie: Unfairly?
Me: Well yea. In the sense I can't help that i'm attracted to you, you won me over. I'm not complaining
Katie: Ha..but I unfiraly did it. That's like cheating or something.
Me: Stop twisting my words please. I'm trying to be real with you. It was a bit overwhelming, i don't meet people like you every day (Demonstrating I felt like she did)
Katie: I'm messing with you..and I hardly ever meet guys like you. <--- Is that an IOI?
Me: I know you were. Thanks by the way you were really cool how you reacted to everything. Give us nice guys hope.
Katie: No thanks needed. Its really just me.
Me: Even better
so what do you want to do today?
Katie: Sleep.. I have to meet realtor..mortgage person..girlfriend for lunch..manager..run.girlfriend for drinks.
