I started a spanish class today also and after I got introduced to some girls (forced) I had no problem talking with them about all sort of things and this is the problem. I like to talk to them but I can't start the conversation.
When I was going home I tried just to say "Hi!" but it sounded more like I was singing or talking to someone else and not the girl directly. Very unconfident!
I can say "Good evening!" but that just sounds lame as I am joking but I will probably do that until I feel more comfortable about that.

She didn't hear it because she had headphones but that is okay because I didn't see it so I acted in good faith! =)
Not much but one step closer!
