Note to self: When the 100 girls in the bar you're working at in Europe are split between 4 tour buses, do not use the same material on all of them, as they WILL notice - even if not today, they will notice tomorrow on the bus or when they're out sightseeing.
But it's okay - I number closed.
Here's the dealio...
I was talking to this one girl early on in the night and I thought "hell, i'll use a lock-in prop", so I gave her my necklace to wear with the promise that she's not a thief and that I'll get it back (cheap shit I bought at the local markets, so it REALLY doesn't matter either way).
Towards the end of the night I notice she's getting drunker and drunker and is starting to talk to one of the other guys working here. The other guy hadn't seen me working her earlier, so he's not cutting in + I'll let him have her. I make myself visible to the girl and she's like "oh, here it is".
Fast forward to an hour later and there's another girl I'm talking to. She's a Canadian girl and lives near where my parents live. Since the two ice hockey teams (Toronto & Ottawa) are huge rivals, and she's a fierce hockey fan (most Canadian girls are), I make her agree to go see an ice hockey game with me when I get to Canada in December - I number closed. (So 2nd day will be in 6 months or so).
Now here's the funny part.. at some stage I used the lock-in prop with the second girl... And as she was going to head off for the night, she went to give my necklace back and I was like "well thanks for looking after it" and she goes "That's okay.. I heard you gave it to another girl earlier anyway!"
(in my head someone screams "shit!")
Quick goat-like thinking, I came out with "complete fabrication... it must have been someone else.. I've been wearing this all night. Tell ya what though... As I said to you before, this is MY necklace and I want it back. But, just so you know I won't be trying this with any other girl, I will give this to you to hold onto for me until December when I get to Canada and call you."
With the reaction I got (happy), at this point I should've gone for the full close. She kept saying "I need to get to bed", but never quite made her way as long as the conversation was going. Oh well, We'll see what happens at the Day 2.. in December.
Something I realised a couple hours later, or maybe even this morning.. despite her believing me at the time that it wasn't my necklace that the other girl had.. I'm sure when she gets on the bus in the morning wearing it that someone will remind her of it.. "No, that's TOTALLY the same one.. and TOTALLY the same guy"... ah well, maybe she'll forget by December
