I was out with some friends from my job, taking a couple of beers. I left early because I dive early tomorrow (and instead I'm writing this post). Anyway, on the subway home a girl comes up to me (this is basically what was said):
HB8: I recognize you
Me: (try to evaluate what kind of backward situation I'm in) ...
HB8: We took this class together at the university
Me: (too happy to see her, and also being confronted by her) No way! Wow, this is great. How are you, what are you doing here?
HB8: Bla bla bla
Me: Bla bla bla
HB8: So, where have you been tonight / where are you going?
Me: I had dinner with some friends and I'm on my way home now.
HB8: Already?
Me: Yeah, I lecture a diving class tomorrow
HB8: Oh, I'm meeting up with some friends at some-club-name
Me: (f*ck, that's only two stations away and too late to make excuse for getting off there)

So, this is a girl I took a class with about 3 years ago at the university (in another part of this long country). She looked good before, but she is dynamite tonight. So I figure she must be single by now (oh, yeah... I forgot to mention: she had a bf back then).

In this short time on the subway I manage to get a short resume of her last 3 years and that she actually already knew that I lived here through somebody that knows a little about the both of us (well isn't that swell?). But I have to know if she still has that bf of hers.

Me: So, how come you ended up here? It can't just have been the job?
HB8: No, I worked in name-of-other-town before. But then I got this job offer and things wasn't going so well with my boyfriend. Bla bla bla and we broke up a while after I moved here 6 months ago.
Me: (this is great, she kind of knew what I was after) And it's incredible that we happen to run in to eachother like this.
HB8: Yeah, it's so funny. Oh, this is my station.
Me: (damn, how can I see her again... I don't want to seem needy) I guess we'll see eachother another day on this sub *smiling* (damn, how cheezy am I... was I trying to be cool?)
HB8: Or maybe we should try get in touch in some other way that's more reliable.

So, was she just responding to my joke? Or how should I interpret that?
Does anyone have any good suggestions of how I should proceed with this. I really don't like the fact that I have her email since we took the same class... she knows that I could easily get in touch with her if I wanted.
Where do I go from here? Play it cool and forget it if she doesn't make the move first?

Why would you want to wait for her first move?
Your going to be waiting a long time.
Just email her and say you were thinking after your talk and your going to be in her part of town picking up blah blah and was wondering if she wanted to get a coffee. Email is the best because you can take awhile to think about your next message.

I guess I thought of it as just an opportunity i blew because I got caught off guard... no, wait... I guess I think too much sometimes, because it doesn't seem to make any sense right now.

Thanks. I'll update my progress in this thread.

Thanks for getting me back on track. I've really had some weird kind of set back lately. You know, when you get caught in this bad flow and that Boost is just gone (do you know the feeling?).

Anyway. I sent her an email saying something about we should get together again sometimes on another subway or over a coffee. I carefully formulated the mail to avoid any questions, instead I said "There is this place I've heard so much about lately, I'm checking it out this weekend. We should meet there".
She responded me just an hour ago that she would very much like to meet me there! This is all good :-)

To be continued...

We met up and I gave her a nice hug and started off with a little c/f to quickly jump over the social warm up. I wanted to convey the feeling of us being two good friends that hadn't seen eachother in a long time. And it worked well, she didn't seem to recall that we never actually knew eachother back at the university. We instantly built good rapport and she laughed at jokes I knew wasn't funny. I negged her and enjoyed hearing her desperately trying to qualify

But I wasn't prepared on the fact that she was so much "I go hunting and fishing with my dad when I'm back home"... She's also an engineer, and let's just say she didn't pick up on any sublime material. I've always thought Ross Jeffries has got some good dating material... but didn't work here. So I tried to work some different angles, also without any success. Finally I dropped the routines I wanted to try and focused on just having a good time.
- But isn't that good, one might think?
- Well, no. I want to learn how to play The Game good. Just having a good time at a date and see what ever falls out of it is what AFC does. Which is pretty much what I did in the end anyway.

Another thing: she recently broke up with her bf and I got this feeling that she was in that state where you're trying to fill the void (you know when you feel like you're at a relationship interview). And I think she caught herself being too intimate at times and backed off a little. You know, we got some kino going and suddenly she would back off. We started to talk about sex and then she would suddenly change the subject. I just didn't manage to build enough trust and comfort to move on to the next level :-(

I'm recalibrating my strategy for the next date (yes, we are having a next one). I pulled:
- We're too much alike. That's not a good thing and that's why we can't be dating anymore.
- Why not?
- We would just fight over small things, break up, get together, have sex and then break up again. We don't want that to happen.
- Hahaha. I'll take my chances.

Once again: I'll update my progress in this thread.

I hear ya man. Sometimes when nothing is working I just give up, clear my mind of the game and just have a good time. Doing this though has never stoped me from getting a kiss close, it usually just makes the proccess take a tad bit more.
