Negative emotions do exist and are a part of us. They are a critical part in our development and frequently emerge when we are trying to achieve something that is ussually "not us". Like when we are trying to succed at pick-up, but are strugling.
What are negative emotions and how do they come up?
We all look at negative emotions like something bad. But actually, they are just the oposite. Negative emotions are natures way of saying.. something isnt working right or Im not getting what I want.
Negative emotions are a sign, that you need to do something differently than you do now.
For example, you sit at home, watching internet porn and feel bad because you cant go out and meet girls to fuck. Sad.
And than you may feel depressed and you start turning into a loop of depression.
But the negative emotion is just a sign that something isnt working right and that you need to do something about it.
I work as an insurance agent. And after a long week of work, I become stressed out because of all the objections that I get while I try to sell insurance. I become fed up with their childish behaviour and not taking responsibility for their family. So I come home, and sometimes Im still charged. And after a week, Im not able to go out and meet clients anymore..because I start to react emotionally.
So what did I do? First thing, I learned not to take it personally, so I changed my attitude.
But after a while, week becomes hard no matter what, and negative emotions start to emerge.
And they build up.
And then I react.
And no ka-ching at the end of the month.
So what is the solution?
I can tell you its meditation, exercise, punching a bag, hitting the gym.. but they are all true, but dont help completely.
What I found that works is, I find a good rock album, I like the song from billie idol Scream.. Make me SCREEEAM WOOOMAN.. good shit.
So the point is, to let all of the emotions out of your system.
And here is the beauty part.
Once I get all the emotions out, I never get charged emotionally with the same thing again. So when a client gives me the same objection as he did last time, This time I handle it calmly without any emotional charge.
When I greet people in the streets, I say hello in a positive emotion.
When I buy groceries, I do it in a positive way.
Being present in the moment is all about how good you can deal with your negative emotions. Because if you dont know how to, you are going to be emotionally charged all the time.
And you wount be succesfull at anything.
But here is a basic system of how you deal with negative emotions.
1. Take a piece of paper and write down everything that bothers you in the world.
2. Mark the things that you can controll with a star, the ones that you cant with a cross.
3. ACCEPT. Start with what bothers you in this way... I accept the fact that this and this is like that in this world. This is how it is.
4. Go out and run for a couple of miles, so you get the physical stress out.
5. Get a good energic song and turn up the volume. Now, shout, dance, kick, punch anything to get it out of your system.
6. Get a calm song and rock in your bed or on the floor.
7. Rest. Be quiet for 20 minutes and just look at the wall.
