Have we all gone mad?

What happened to the days when becoming a Pick Up Artist, meant developing the skills you need to satisfy every part of you life? To become a better person, to give you the confidence you need to make the best out of every situation this life throws at you?

What is the reason behind smashing your AA, or building a tight social circle, or learning how to control your actions and body language? In fact, why learn to build confidence at all?

This isn’t about sleeping with random women, it never was!

It’s about becoming someone better, and taking what you deserve, because no ones going to hand you anything for free. This is not the magic bullet you were looking for!

This is a long journey to discover self, to learn to control your emotions to feel better about being you, instead of letting life shit on you and just taking what falls from the table.

I don’t like the fact that people are coming here expecting to get laid like rock stars tomorrow. I don’t like the fact that there are people who read everything they can get their hands on, not use it, and try to tell others what to do.

It’s good to get perspectives on your situations, it helps you make a sound decision, and you have friends here to back you up on it. If you have a problem with something we will do our best to help you figure out a solution. But don’t take advice from people with no experience. Not every solution can be found in a book, it takes some living to make the solutions real.

There are people here who have been through a lot, and worked very hard, to be where they are now. We all know who they are, and we appreciate what they bring to the table.

I’ve been at this a long time. Every now and then I have somewhere I get stuck and I rely on these people to give me the tools, to help me, help myself. And I am thankful everyday that people like this exist to help others find what they really need.

This is more than a place to learn to get laid this is a place to help get more out of life. May it be trouble communicating your skills to an employer, not having any friends, low self esteem, not satisfied with what you have but too afraid to ask for more?

It takes time to achieve these things, and a lot of hard work, but this is the step in the right direction. Re-build yourself into the person you always wished you were. Become a Pick Up Artist and learn to live.

True, everyone is on their own trip though man. Lets be real to gain this mindset it takes a mature mindset to accept that. When I 1st got started in this; I knew over half the stuff was BS (in the sense of routines etc.) Thats just me though .

Slight disagreement on wording, though I know what your saying. "Pickup Artist" is kinda childish it implies the "art of picking up", much rather prefer "Renaissance Man" or "Scholar Warrior".

What you say is very true. But I think, many or most people who come to this forum want to only get laid, or at least this is their main motivation in becoming a pick up artist. Well that's what the term says... picking up (mostly girls)! And why does the usual AFC want and also tries to pick up girls? You're right, to have sex.

When I watched Mystery on TV I thought "hey that's cool, I should remember some of these principles!". When I actually wanted to watch the series again on the internet to learn, I knew I am into something big... VERY big!

After dropping the whole PUA thing for an unknown reason, I came back to it after a year, with the intention of getting more knowledge about seducing girls. But in the last few months that changed, because I have experienced PUA is more than just picking up. It's a change in my life, the biggest change ever I think.

It's cool running around being all confident, acting alpha, with a "i don't care about shit" kind of mind and knowing how easy girls really work.
And here I feel like we're all in the same boat. Thousands of people not emberassed talking about emberassing things to tell your friends.

I don't judge those guys for their intentions though... they missed out important things in their life, just like me! Maybe they will, at some point, see it as clearly as you or I do. PUA is a way to live, not only (but not excluded) a way to get laid.

I agree with Draven wholeheartedly on what he says in this thread, and this is one of the reasons that I stopped visiting pick up forums and sarging.

I, like most other people got into Game because I wanted to be in control of my relations with women. That is a deep way of saying I wanted to get laid - but more than that I wanted to be in control of what I wanted.

This is the point - these guys want to get laid because getting laid is seen in society as the most concrete way of validating yourself (for a guy anyway).

I learned pretty quickly that what I was gaining from Game was not picking up chicks, but that once I was in control of my ability to pick up chicks I could see past this BLINDING imperative that I faced and realise what else in life I was missing, and what's really important. And the REAL lessons I learned from my fellow PUAs and aspiring PUAs was about LIVING
