| Its stated in alot of PUA material that you should enter a set with a bit higher energy then the set has...the keyword being a bit.
Now some people are naturally high energy, amped up, and ready to party....and thats great. I actually envy some people like that, as i tend to be kinda reserved.
However i have noticed an issue that i feel needs addressing.
There seems to be a small segment of people who feel that high energy means being obnoxiously loud, yelling, saying things just to say them (not making sence), making fun of others or having fun at others expence, etc.
To be honest i hate people like this. They have the same effect on a group as a antisocial closed person does. They make people feel akward and drain thier positive energy.
Its not the same as blowing out a set, its just being generally annoying and inapropriate.
Being high energy and going into any set slightly above thier energy level is meant to amp up people. Its like taking a train ride. Theres 3 trains lets say...one goes a normal boreing speed, the second goes faster, and the third is dangerously fast. Which train do you take?
Well of course you take the second one, its safe and will be more fun, as well as getting you there quicker. This is how you should gauge your energy level. You dont want to be thier normal boreing speed but you dont want to be dangerously high energy...you want to be higher energy but enough so that they are willing to match or join your level.
While its fine to not care in a general sense how people judge you...isnt that a big factor in what we do, make people like us? being sensative to others feelings and noticeing how they are taking you should be an important tool in your arsenal for calibrating. Sure your gonna occassionaly have that bad set where the people are just downers and your better off without them, but sometimes youll do something in set and the negative reactions will be your fault, if you cant allow yourself to notice it youll never grow. _________________ -Ka-
