When you set yourself out to achieve something, whether it be
success in your career or in dating women, you're going to
meet yourself.

What do I mean by that?

Well, have you ever tried to be like someone else?

Have you ever got inspired by a role model, that you wanted
to speak like him, dress like him, act like him and do as he did?

I remember when I decided that I want to be good with women.

I found this role model, and I just did as he did.

I started to talk like him... to behave and dress like him, and
even present myself in a similar way.

But whenever you're trying to be someone you're not, you
won't be coming from your true self..and because of
that, success in anything will just be escaping you.

Success will actually be running away from you.

So it ran away from me.

For the life of me, I couldn't make it work. It just didn't feel
right for me...and it sure didn't feel right for women.

I remember listening to Earl Nightingale on an old tape, as he talked
about this story of a woman, who was in this restaurant in Paris.

She was having duck, and she liked the duck so much, that
she asked the chef to give her the recipe.

The chef gave her the recipe, and when she got home she
followed it to the word...but the duck didn't taste the same.

When she was again at that restaurant, she complained to
the chef about not giving her the right recipe.

When the chef went through the recipe with her, and saw that
he did give her everything she needed, he made a comment
to her:

"Madame, the recipe is correct. However, I think you have
forgot to put the most important ingredient of them all...maybe
you forgot to put yourself into the mix"

And this story has a lot of power. Because "putting yourself into the
mix" is often the most important ingredient you can give to your
success with women, your success in your career, your success
in anything really.

So let me ask you, where are you trying to follow the "recipe" and
not putting yourself into the mix?

Is it with women? Are you trying to follow the pick up advice word
per word, but it doesn't seem to work for you?

Is it with your career? Are you following a guru or a teacher and you
just can't seem to make real progress that you want?

Where?

This idea of "Being who you really are" and not trying to pretend you're
somebody you're not has been so crucial for my success in dating,
that I've started researching it a little bit deeper.

When I asked guys why they weren't their real selves when around
women, the most frequent answer I got was that they didn't actually
know who they really "are".

So ask yourself, do YOU know who you really are?

And if you do, why are you hiding yourself?

Leave a comment below and tell me where you stand with this. Are you
being your real self, or are you trying to fake somebody you're not?
