I always wondered how you meditate the right way.

What do you do? What is it supposed to feel like? How long does it take to work?
Does it really work? How well has it impacted your life?

There are many ways to meditate but I think most people are familiar with
the eastern methods.Whether eastern or western esoteric methods, all require
meditator to focus and still the mind. This may mean quieting the inner chatter you have with yourself. Some tell you to focus on some object like a candle flame or imaginary light or beautiful scenery (visualisation) .Most important to just observe and let your thoughts or chatter go by without analysing them.Listen into the stillness.

You may recieve insights in the form of images,feelings/smells/tastes, auditory sounds/voice (your higher self or spiritual guide/angels).

There is also the action orientated type where you go for a walk/run or other type of leisure activity like cooking, painting, etc.All that matters is your intent, you can do anything and say it's your meditation. The intent to take time for yourself.

Most are familair with sitting down and or crossing your legs but this will cause
cramps if you are new to this. You can just sit comfortably in a chair or sofa.I prefer lying down. What most people experience after some time of meditation
is that they are able to clearly make better decisions and choices regarding their
wants and needs or problem solving. You can meditate for as little as 5 to 10 minutes ,daily if you like or whenever you wish but do meditate at regular time of day as it will instill discipline and habbit.Don't need to hole up in a cave for months.Going to a quiet place like a park or countryside may also help but it's not necessary if you live in a city. You can meditate anywhere but have selfconsciousness about your surroundings as you need to go about your daily life.
Do not meditate while driving or at work as it may pose danger to yourself and others.
