Has anyone in here read Eric Von Sydow's (hypnotica's) autobiography Metawhore? I finished it about a week ago. I really enjoyed it. Last time I checked it had 30 reviews on amazon, 30 of which were 5 stars. My review was also a five star review on it.
The book is his basic autobiography in story format. It was very humorous and I feel like I learned a lot from reading it. IMO when I read a lot of PUA books it all seems so mechanical, one thing Eric mentioned in his book that even after being able to pick up/have sex with many women he still wanted the feeling of intimacy and he left empty without it. I feel like that's an important lesson to learn, especially in a community like this. That even when you know a strategic formula for 'success' it might still not feel like 'success'.
I feel like I learned many important life lessons and has helped curve the way I think about my path. For instance I'm in my early 20's and I spend most of my time studying NLP/hypnosis and I don't feel like I really connect with my friends anymore because It's hard for people who don't study these things to understand when you're talking/explaining things about meta-stating, anchoring, ect. In the book he discusses a little bit about when he was at that age he felt the same way, but continued on. Sometimes I feel like giving up my studies and trying to be the average tool watching football and drinking beer all the time, but it was that passage that motivated me to keep on with my passions of studying. Knowing that one day they will all payoff.
