As you know, alcohol normally lowers inhibitions, making people do things they wouldn't do normally. However I noticed something strange last night, after drinking a little alcohol, I actually felt less bold, like it messed with my confidence or something. So this just made em curious and wanted to know if this ever happened to anyone else.

alcohol is made to mess with your head and judgement which is more than likely something you've known for a while so you may not have expected this to happen since it was the first time but you shouldnt be surprised. have fun and do your thing but maybe allow yourself to meet more people without drinking so you become more aware of your strengths and weaknesses

You'd expect alcohol to give you that confidence boost and improve your game. I think this is generally true if you'd had one or two but past that point when you've had a fairly substantial amount to drink it really fucks with your head and affects your judgement. I've found it actually destroys your confidence and your patience and end up getting pissed off and upset on some nights out instead of thinking rationally and adjusting my game to the situation.

It depends on the night at the end of the day but generally if you're out to game girls then you have to be disciplined with your drinking.

There's lots out there that says that most of the effect of alcohol is psychological: we expect to get drunk and more confident and so we are!

Sorry, but that is complete bullshit. Alcohol does lower your inhibitions.

3/4 and I find it helps things a long a bit. Any more than that though and you're just playing off Dutch courage.

Social anthpologist and numerous experiments say otherwise:

Quote:
In high doses, alcohol impairs our reaction times, muscle control, co-ordination, short-term memory, perceptual field, cognitive abilities and ability to speak clearly. But it does not cause us selectively to break specific social rules. It does not cause us to say, "Oi, what you lookin' at?" and start punching each other. Nor does it cause us to say, "Hey babe, fancy a shag?" and start groping each other.

The effects of alcohol on behaviour are determined by cultural rules and norms, not by the chemical actions of ethanol.
Although googling it proves inconclusive.
