Did everybody get their books? I've been traveling a bit and didn't realize that I had my copy sent to an old address. . . and the current resident signed for it! I'm going to go over there kick the guy's butt tomorrow. I'll follow up once I read it.

Hey Hob, I'm right around where you must be in the book right now. I'd like to hear your thoughts on it (and everyone else's) once you've completed reading.

Roz came up with the idea that we should all start the program at the start of the next moon cycle.

I think it's a good idea!
In in . . . However, I need to buy another copy.

Got it . . . so far, pretty good. Are you guys really up for the challenge? Fasting, meditation, and going caffeine/alcohol free sounds rewarding but also challenging.

For those who are IN on the 5 week program, I have an idea . . .

How about if we create an online calendar to plug in and share our daily schedules? Anybody have any preference for an online calendar? Google? This one? http://www.keepandshare.com/htm/calenda ... lendar.php

Alright, I'll get the Kindle version so I don't have to wait for the mail :D

Looking forward to it. Having a calendar and journal sounds brilliant.

I propose we start on March 19, since it is advised we start the program on the day of the full moon. The next full moon after that would be April 18 ...

And the online calender is a nice idea. That one looks as good as any

Show of hands? Will you guys be ready in a week? Roz, did you already look into the supplements?

Hobbit, it's been my experience that fasting in cold weather sucks. . . although usually for me, it's been multi-day experiences. Why were you fasting?

Writing this while sipping from a large cup of coffee. . .

I'm officially in.

I'm drinking coffee too... it is so delicious...

Fin, Amazon has a kindle version for $10 that you can read on your computer. I'm not sure how strapped for cash you are but I thought I'd let you know just in case.

Who wants to take on the responsibility of setting up the online calendar? . . . I'll start it off but it will be nice if we can all contribute for data entry. . .

Hobbit, you take a regular, average guy who eats the regular average diet and take him off of coffee + alcohol and there will be remarkable changes already. Take away refined sugar and it's like night and day. Reduce calories and go through fasts = big changes on its own. Just do the short meditations every day and this is big . . . You've probably heard of individual components of that program at one time or another. Just being mindful of loved ones on one afternoon in one day can be a dramatic endorphin rush. . . The big thing to me here is the regiment itself. It's somewhat like visiting a mediation center or a temple for a month and basically following an established schedule.

The one thing that makes me want to push the start date back is that I'd like to be able to create a calendar that everybody can easily follow. Include recipes and eating suggestions for a dining hall setting . . . and perhaps research foods that are rich of the nutrients that are recommended in the book in case people don't have the means or access to the supplements mentioned in the book. Anyhow . . . these are just thoughts . . .

The program that is outlined in the book is a loose set of weekly suggestions. I think it might be a good idea to tighten it up a bit and create a daily schedule with suggestions for meals and both physical and mental exercises with links to yoga/meditation sites for those who have never done this. This way, we'll have a more uniform experience to share as if we were all at a retreat together.

I ordered the Alamax and NRF2 online last week. I have everything but the Sulforphane and Curcumin, which I was planning to buy this weekend.

This stuff isn't cheap! I already cut gluten, meat, refined sugar, coffee, and simple carbs from my diet a couple of years back, and I've been fasting every other Wednesday for over a year now, so I'm very curious to see what changes these supplements will produce.

Also, I can help with the research of a list of foods that are rich of the nutrients mentioned in the book, for anyone who can't get the supplements recommended.
