| Does anyone know Ross's source for the bonus section of Unstoppable Confidence?
"How to Attract Your Dream Lover."
I've been very curious about this...it doesn't seem like he came up with this idea on his own. He says, "This is extraordinarily powerful, it really is mind-blowing stuff." Is this based on the Huna religion? I know that later Ross revealed his interest in that religion, along with Chaos Magick.
I agree that Paul McKenna's stuff is equally powerful. After listening to Supreme Self Confidence, or Instant Confidence (both by McKenna), I feel very self-confident. Only two things I dislike about Paul McKenna is that he says, "Picture a time you were confident..." and then without a pause goes an to say, "Now make that image bigger, brighter..." It takes me much longer than one second to think of a time I was confident. He ought to pause for maybe 10 seconds before proceeding. The other thing I think is very UN-hypnotic about Paul McKenna (it always pulls me out of trance), is that, while you're in trance, he talks about endorphins in the brain, and explains what they are, and then commands you to fire off endorphins. This is a difficult, intellectual, non-intuitive command that I find impossible to obey. The subconscious responds to symbols, imagery, and concepts that a child can understand. Why does he throw in neuroscience during the trance portion of his tape? Talk all you want about neuroscience and chemicals in your brain, but do so in the first tape when you're instructing the conscious mind about confidence. It does no good telling your infant-brain, "Now fire off endorphins...now double the endorphins. Double it again!" It is unimaginative as a hypnotist to use that conceptual command, a command whose meaning he has to spend 2 minutes explaining before issuing the command.
Aside from the above 2 criticisms, Paul McKenna's stuff is top-notch, and the audio quality is ten times better than Ross Jeffries. In fact before listening to Ross Jeffries I always have to open the files in Audacity and use the Noise Reduction effect to clean up the audio...there's so much audio feedback.
It's difficult for me to visualize myself, let alone a 40 foot tall version of myself. What else is 40 feet tall? Maybe it would be helpful to see myself standing next to a 40 foot tall flagpole or something. 40 feet tall is about 7.25 times my actual height (5'7"). Maybe I can start with visualizing myself at 10 feet tall, ducking to pass through doors, the girls' eye levels at about my waist, etc.
