So along my journey of self-realization I've noticed a trend that I can only describe as a fear to succeed. For example, when working out, I do not feel nervous around all the people, nor do I have trouble talking to them if I must, however I have this deep nagging that vibes somewhat like this:

"I hope they don't realize I'm trying to improve myself" or something like: "if anyone finds out I'm trying to improve myself to move up in the world I'm in trouble"

Anyone ever had this? I see it as a major road block. because while I have the 'usual' problems of being shy and etc, I'm beginning to think it stems from a fear of being successful. Like I shouldn't be allowed to, like it goes against my destiny. It's a powerful feeling, and I hate it, but because I'm trying to improve, it gets more predominant as I do. Like an elastic, I get excited about where I'm heading, and then the fear sets in and I start to get nervous about where I'm heading. Like I shouldn't be. Any help/insight/reading would be appreciated, thanks.

Pintero,

The problem you describe is the result of one or more beliefs that you currently have.

A belief is a statement about reality that feels true on some level. I can't know for sure without talking to you, but I would assume that you have a belief like "Being someone who needs to improve himself is inadequate" or whatever. If you eliminate the belief, the problem will disappear.

I took Morty Lefkoe's official training course to learn to eliminate any belief in 20 minutes or less. I'll help you for free if you want. Send me a PM to exchange SPAM usernames.

Maybe you just have this uncomfortableness about doing what everyone else wants and trying too hard to be like them?

Find your own vibe with everything you do and try to add something to whatever realm you go into. Even if you are a newbie, you can still contribute a unique perspective to the situation. Don't try to play the apprentice, be a teacher and try to reconcile you're idea to find what's "right" from the beginning, usually other people aren't much more sure than you.

I haven't had that particular problem but have had a similar one related to fear. What I did to overcome it was I invited it, rather than fight it. Repeat to yourself stuff like,
"I welcome success" or "I welcome criticisms from others".. replace success or critscism from others with whatever it is you are fearing. Within time, it will go away. I am sure of it.

I also have a similar fear. I'm always scared of bringing girls to my house, I still live with my parents and I've just turnt 20.

I have a fear that my parents will know I spend time with girls. I don't know why. Obviously they know because I'm very not-gay. My Dad's really judging of people so I feel he'll judge anyone I'm with and give me an earful of it.

I've even turnt down dates because this one girls parents knew my parents and I was worried of what my Dad would think.

I've sort of left my need for approval behind, it comes back sometimes. However, I constantly need approval to my Dad, I'm quite needy to him actually and just want to please him.

Help. :(
