Has anyone heard of Patrice O'Neal? He is an excellent source of philosophy on life for men who are struggling with finding success. Personally he was my favorite comedian and better than any self help book on any shelf. Unfortunately he died 3 months ago but still listen to his stuff often for perspective.
Some of his stuff is basically misogyny but mostly he talks about just always being honest and staying true to who you are instead of letting your time and emotions get raped by the system.
He is also a great example of an overweight man who finds plenty of success with women because of his self control and overall personality.
He has all kinds of videos on youtube from radio shows like O&A and his standup. I'll just link a few as a starting point.
