Hello, I've found this exercise (sorry if it's copyrighted or something, I found it by google):
Quote:
Lay on your back on your bed, with the top half of your body overhanging at around the nipples. So your shoulders and
head are completely off the bed.

Really tense and feel the two large muscles that go vertically from your shoulder to your ear. (The Stemocleidomastoid’s)
These muscles are the ones we are going to strengthen and enlarge. Tilt your head back, to the left, and lift your head squeezing the right side . Hold it tense once your head is lifted nearly to your chest, then release and
slowly come back down again.

Repeat this 15 times or until it is absolutely killin you. Then do the right side, tensing your left muscle. Do this in 3 to 5 sets through out the day. You don't have to do them consecutively. Just make sure to really tense them. Really feel the crush of the squeeze.
My questions are...
1. Is it efficient in order to get a deeper voice?
2. Is it dangerous?
3. If it is efficient, can somebody explain me how to do that/can somebody make a video of himself doing it?

Thanks~

Why would you want to do that anyway?
This reminds me of the "exercise" to get a flat stomach. You would put a can under your stomach and try to not touch it.

Hey

I have never heard of that one before.

I have done a lot of vocal exercises to lower my voice and toto getbetter control. As a hypnotist my voice is important, so I spent a lot of time working on it.

What I found worked was relaxing and talking from your stomach, and taking lots of pauses. Putting emotion into your voice and drawing people in is much more effective than just having a low pitch.

There are lots of good acting books with exercises to strengthen your voice.

Matt
