He's talking about those little dolls they used to make that had crazy hair you could mess around with.

To rock the bed head hairstyle, you need to have a style that is congruent with it. The bed head style is now synonymous with that guy from Twilight, so a style similar to that would probably work.

It depends. Like the guy above said, it's largely dependant on the rest of your dress and -of course- the social setting. My roomate is a hair stylist so she probably over analyses it more than mos women, but she loves the bed head look - but only if it's not overly faux. My opinion is, if you're spending 15 minutes trying to perfect it, it's probably not going down ;)
