I am currently reading a book called, "The Power of Body Language," which is a really interesting book i must admit.

Right now im reading about facial expressions, where basically the author discusses the universal facial expressions, e.g. happiness, sadness, anger, surprise and so on.

My question is, does someones face always have one of these expressions or is it possible that they have no expression, i.e. neutral expression. im in class right now and there are people sitting and looking at their laptops or just staring at the professor and, even though im really new, i cant seem to peg any facial cues to give me their feeling. I want to know because is reading facial expressions reading whats going on at every second, or is it possible theres nothing happening on the face and its just a waiting game until the second party leaks an expression?

So, can there be a neutral expression, or am i just new?
