Best brand name clothes to buy? (i'm not naming all of them..)

I'd disagree, Sand Tiger. In many cases you are only paying for the name, but well-designed clothes often have a better cut/fit.

I get heaps of positive comments on my Polo Jeans Co leather jacket (unfortunately I live in the tropics so usually I only wear it when travelling) and I have a Hugo Boss black dress shirt that feels delicious when I wear it. That said I also get positive comments on my cheap faded t-shirt with SWAT printed on it. It's about what makes you feel better.

To the OP, it depends on the crowd you're trying to attract: if you're a surfer, Billabong, Quiksilver etc; high-end, YSL, Versace etc. You have to find your personal style.

Thats all your doing with Tony Hawk stuff as well, this whole topic is about brand name... In my opinion, either don't wear brand name stuff or wear the best.
But as with all things, its not the style, colour, make or price of the clothes that matters, it is how it fits you.

My point is, who goes to American Eagle or Hollister and drops $40 for a pair of pants?

My last pair of jeans cost me £95, which at the current exchange rate is $155.13.
My average top costs me £25-£40 ($40-$65).
I own 3 pairs of shoes, Casual, Smart Casual and Smart. Each cost me around £90.

Nice clothes that fit and look good on the owner are worth that extra bit of money, jeans will stay in fashion for years, its a good investment. Just as turning up a job interview in a smart suit will look good and put you ahead, turning up at a club looking hot will look good and put you ahead.

You can have the best clothes in the world and not have any game (AFC) at all (not directed at Madals but in general)

AFC with shit clothes < AFC with good clothes < PUA with shit clothes < PUA with good clothes.
When I say good, I do not mean price, I mean how they fit the person. I could go out and buy a designer - 1 of a kind dress worth thousands and it would be the most expensive thing in the club, but I bet it wont attract the right kind of attention.

Give me a fresh v-neck and I'm good to go.

Maybe in some cases you are paying for brand name, but you are also paying for quality and fit. I've worked in retail for quite some years and I can say that in some cases, the price is worth it. I own jeans around the same price Madals mentioned, as well as just t-shirts nearing the $100 mark. In all honesty, I'm paying that price for myself, not for anyone else. It is a fit and quality I like and I feel comfortable in. To each his own.

I try to stay away from any preppy style (abercrombie, polo, lacost, etc). Not only is it corny, but EVERYBODY wears it so you are essentially spending a lot of money to look just like every other bro-douche bag who wears that shit.

Not exactly.

Just because you wear Polo (I dont wear the others you mentioned) doesnt mean you have to wear the lame plain ass collar shirt everyone else wears. Companies make a ton of different styles, but naturally, most people are gonna pick the most neutral item the company makes. If I wear Polo, its never a plain collar shirt. I just think its wrong to say that just becuase you wear a certain brand, you pigeon-hole yourself in a certain category. Maybe thats true for people with no personality, but not me.

Anyways, to stay on topic:

I usually wear Polo and Affliction. Theres also this skate shop in my local mall that has some awesome tee's (Crooks n Castles, Obey, Artful Dodger, Nike SB, ... stuff like that).

I say just wear what you feel comfortable in. If you arent comfortable in what you're wearing, how can you expect anyone else to be?
