Many of you have read the game and have heard of Mystery's Peacocking method of attracting attention. Some of the things he use are outrageous, glow necklaces, feather boa's, and so on.

I know that in some places, those aren't always appropriate and I just don't feel comfortable wearing them. However, I am a firm believer in peacocking and so I thought I might throw up a few suggestions of things that I wear that constantly act as conversation pieces and are cheap and easy to find.

A good t-shirt or collared shirt with fantastic designs is a good start, but not an outrageous color scheme. Some brands to look for that HB's always comment on when I wear them:

Salvage: $65 to $80

Manchester LTD: $25-35

English Laundry: $35-85

Roar: $70-90

Pop-Icon: $20-35

Filter: $30-40

Or make your own. I have had fellow PUA's take a regular black t or grey t and draw a picture of an object (ie guitar) and consistently get asked about where they got it.

To embrace true Peacock, I wear tons of shite on my wrists and around my neck. A great place to pick up this stuff for cheap is the Buckle store, or on side street deals (like 3rd street in Santa Monica, or Telegraph street in Berkeley).

On my left wrist, I cut the bottom 9 inches of an old tie, wrap it around my wrist in an X fashion and wear a very very large faced watch on top. It makes for a great conversation piece and intrigues the target when you say you made it yourself.

On the right wrist, I wear a 1 1/2 inch wide leather band, a leather and metal bracelet, and an all brushed steel bracelet. It may seem like a lot, but it is acceptable in ALL environments, and you don't feel queer wearing them.

Around my neck, I wear two necklaces, a brown leather one that has a small coin like piece on the end. The other is a dog tag like necklace (also a good conversation piece).

Great shoes are always well received.

I'm not disproving Mystery's peacock methods, only offering an alternative for those of us who want to maintain a semblance of style while still using the power of the peacock.

Cheers,
