ok, this is not as dumb as it may sound... when i was younger i lost one of my eyes. over the years this caused me a great deal of social anxiety wondering if everone was looking at my false eye..blah blah blah. over the years i've got better at dealing with this and much of the problem is in my mind, most people don't even really notice or assume i just have a slightly lazy eye or something. however, why not play up the fact, rather than try and hide it and feel potential embarrassment from the fact which affects my inner game. by wearing an eye patch i would be openly admitting to the fact that i lost an eye etc. so i wouldn't be worrying about trying to conceal it, it would also make an interesting conversation point / opener.

what do you guys think?? i'm new to this PU thing but am dedicated to learning the art to a high level. do you reckon this would improve my game or is it something that i should just learn to deal with and attempt to turn into simply what make me, me and be proud of it.

thanks in advance for the advice.

I think the eye patch thing could work for sure. Girls love a man with a war story! Personally I have a few nasty scars that I was really self conscious of growing up. Ive got a giant scar that covers a good part of my for arm that Ive had since I was 2 due to a tropical infection when My family lived in the jungle of west Papua. Its funny, growing up I hated it but now a days its a really great conversation piece and Ive grown to embrace it. Ive got another nasty scar on my stomach too from when I was 16 and got stabbed and women love looking at it and asking me to show their friends its crazy. So I could see the eye patch working man. Just embrace who you are and what youve gone through and not only will people accept it, they'll hang on every word!

Ya definitely wear the eye patch. The eye patch says "I lost my eye and I'm okay with that and I have a badass story" whereas the fake eye, which you said can kind of look like a lazy eye, is questionable. I'd much rather talk to a guy who had an eye patch than a lazy eye.

How did you lose your eye? Cuz that is fucking badass. Let's make you a DHV story from it.

well unfortunately the story's not as interesting as the eye patch might make out. i had some some form of childhood cancer when i was younger which affects the eye and the doctors had to remove it, i was only 2 so its been something i've grown up with since the year dot. so, its a case of making up an interesting DHV story (remember, its not lying, its flirting) or just coming out with the (less interesting) truth. I for one am all up for getting some awesome tale of heroics going simply for the entertainment value it would add to create initial interest. some sort of car crash, fist fight, sports injury.... im sure we could come up with some crazy ass DHV story from it. i'd love to hear some original ideas that anyone has out there.
now i just gotta find somewhere that sells cool looking eye patch wear.

early in the set: I was kidnapped by aliens and they took it as research material.

In isolation: Tell her the truth. Tell it like she's worth knowing your story. Reward her with it. The truth is intresting enough when you have value.

Eye patch would be a killer Peacock item.
You can probably get some with different designs if you look for it.

As a DHV story, it works as a charm, I think, as long as you take some time to perfect the story, you know, find the best way of telling it.
Look at Sean Stephenson, if you ever get to watch the videos from DD.
he demonstrates that, "yes, this is how I am", but "no, that does not make me different or insecure".
Demonstrating that you're comfortable with yourself, the way you are, is so much more attractive than trying to hide it.

Please let us see your eye patch when you get it ?
I'm seriously curious to see what you find, and how it looks.

awsome, thanks so much for all the cool advice. i've just moved to sydney from england so havent had much chance to progress on this idea but being in a new city seems like the perfect time to try this out. i love some of the lines, especially the pirate one, thats hilarious. im going to nip down the pharmacy tomorrow and see where i can get a patch from. i'll stick some pictures on at some point soon and let you know how it all goes. i think it should really help with the approach anxiety that i get being pretty new at this as it would feel like i dont have anything to hide anymore and help really strengthen the meta-frame of me being in control of the situation.

Lol, thats golden!

I think as long as you can come up with something DHV with the story behind the patch, then it can deffinately work. Good luck!
