I'm in the process of developing a collection of accessories for peacocking, but I'm having trouble finding stuff that is congruent with my style. I dress in a generally laid-back/casual mode--shopping at stores like Gap, H&M, etc. This includes various, plain/subtly patterned button-downs, henley shirts, t-shirts and exclusively jeans for lower-body clothes, as my proportions make me look goofy in khakis and the like.

Suggestions on peacocking and style, in general, are welcome.

I guess the question is: what kind of image to you want to portray?

Maybe you should consider what your high value characteristics are, and try to create a style that is congruent with them.

For example: Mystery is a magician. Mystery was a magician before he ever started pickup. Doing magic is his strong suit. When he started doing PUA, he created an avatar that aligned and was congruent with his magic skills.

What are your sources of high value?

I had the same question about dress/peacocking. For the most part I dress like a prep frat boy, A&F, American Eagle, Hollister, Guess, Lucky Brand, etc. Obviously a fuzzy tophat or vest would not work with what I am comfortable wearing. My peacocking consist of scarfs, white gold bracelets or a good watch, a Polo peacoat jacket, and a few odd looking rings and necklaces with a back story or symbolism. I've also had stupid good luck with mardi gras beads which anyone can wear to the right places.

Theres no modest way to peacock, you need to go two steps further than the other guy shopping at the same store (which can be difficult for a preppy guy like myself). Don't be shy about it at all. Good luck and let us know what you come up with. -Wingnut

Peacocking needs to go beyond that. shopping at generic stores, is less flashy, same with dressing casual, when im peacocking i find big logos across my chest make me a tool. First off you cant get what ever cloths you want its just the way you wear them, i switch the order up some times tee shirt over the button down. aside from that i shop at exotic stores, even sometimes wear girls clothing
secondly excessories are important, i wear fuzzy 50 year old boulder hats that i buy at estate sales, i also have pocket watches, get cheap rings even put on some eye liner or fake eye lashes like in a clock work orange that will get some attention

Yeah, 100% agreement here. If you're just hitting the shops everyone else goes to you're not peacocking. You need to find things that make you stand out, not exaggerate the attributes everyone else wears. Because it needs to be an expression of who you are, all I can say is don't be a stereotype, another member of a pack. Or worse, obviously a member of a pack but with no pack to be found - someone who was kicked out. Be the leader, the guy in the crazy feathered headdress who gets first pick of women in the tribe and goes out alone if need be.
