I am absolutely horrible at taking pictures. Plain and simple. It feels unnatural for me. I don't know how to stand, pose, and I wish I was in a gang because then I'd at least know what to do with my hands. Plus I'm not quite sure how to raise my status through a picture. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

Have someone take candid pictures of you while you're busy doing something you love. Awkwardly posing for a picture with idle hands and a fake smile is sure to look bad, but enough candid shots of you living your life is sure to produce at least a handful of keepers for you to use.

Are you trying to force a smile? What do you think is wrong with how you look in photos? Ask around and gather some opinions....unless you want to post a photo here for some ideas.

Do what chicks do, take ALOT of pictures, then take your pick!
Don't be afraid to sit in the mirror and work on your smile, facial body language, pose

The only way I can get a decent photo is not to pose for them. Look completely the other way, ask the person to say "now" just before they take it, then turn and smile as though I've just met a good friend. Obviously make sure the person doesn't take it whilst you're moving or it will be blurry, but if it's immediately after you've looking at them then you tend to look more natural. Not brilliant for in clubs etc. but for a normal photo may work for you.
