Shoes important for your outfit. Having nice shoes is something girls will notice, however, taking care of them is important aswell. You don't want her to notice you have dirty, semi broken shoes.

Keeping them fresh and new looking:
Take care of them once every week. This will make them last long and it does not take much time or effort. Do it! Its worth it.

For leather shoes; Use appropriate leather polish to keep them moist and shiny. There is alot of different leathers, so bring your shoes to the store and ask what type is suitable.

Regular shoes (trainers, sneakers, running shoes): Usually you can put them in the dishwasher. However, be sure to read at what degree and for how long. Some shoes might get broken if you are not careful enough.

Get rid of the smell in the shoes:
Use baking soda to deodorize them. Simply put it in (if u have edges inside the shoe put some newspaper-paper in around the shoe and then use baking soda). Pour it out outside, give them a shake and clap the bottoms of them together - ready to go!

Other then that you can put it in your freezer - this kills all bacteria or fungus that causes the smell.

If this doesn't help, there is sprays you can use. Just go to your local well-sorted store and ask in the desk, since there is various sprays for various types of shoes. They will mask the smell, but don't take away it.

Smell shouldn't be an issue. When you are out with women your shoes will be on. They won't be able to smell them. If you go home with the girl you should take your shoes off at the door, which again would be away from the living room or bedroom when you sit down with the woman.

Another good tip which helps with odor and wear down is simply to have lots of shoes. If you wear three pairs of shoes, they'll last three times as long. The'll only absorb one third the amount of sweat and dirt. I rotate about four or five pairs of shoes and that seems to work pretty well.

Great thread man. I just want to add a little bit to what you guys have already stated.

I clean my shoes in the sink with dish soap and a toothbrush 8 mile style. I found this way to be really successful. Footlocker also has a spray foam with a scrubber on top. I used to buy this but found the dish soap seems to be the inexpensive alternative.

New shoe laces can make the shoe look like a brand new pair and they're what like 2 for a dollar?

As for smell I recently started using dryer sheets and that has worked out pretty well. I like that freezer idea I'm gonna have to try that.

Don't be a brand whore. It's nice to have a go to pair of Nikes, Adidas or Jordans but as long as the shoe looks good it does not matter. Just got a pair of knock off timberland boots from Walmart for $23.

Glad to see this section of the fourm has some activity.

Great tips guys.

I totally agree. But smell acutally transfers to your socks, Puaninja, and if cuddling with a HB in the bed actually can get noticed, happened to a friend of mine.

If you are alrite with it, Ill add the tips in the main post so people can see them easier and we can make this thread serve as an all-in-one shoe-caretaking guide. Thoughts?

It's up to you bud. This is working so far but if the thread gets a ton of posts then your idea would prolly be the way to go.

Any boot guys know the way to clean these fake Timberlands I just bought?

I've never had an issue with foot odor, but I think it has more to do with how much you sweat and smell in general. I mean, if I'm going out with an HB, I'm showering right before we meet up and putting on a fresh pair of socks on clean feet. And I typically will be wearing a nicer pair of shoes that I only wear for going out, not gym shoes or boots or shoes I was previously running and sweating in. Again, that goes back to having multiple pairs of shoes for different occassions. If you are having foot or shoe odor issues, then you probably need better shoes, better socks, or use some sort of foot powder and make sure to practice good hygiene.

Funny story. I used to know this homeless kid in Cali. It was a hot summer, especially when stomping around in the same pair of cheap tennis shoes and never showering. We let the dude stay over one night so he didn't have to sleep on the streets. He set his shoes up in the windowsill so they could "air out". Only problem was the draft was blowing IN to house. It literally stunk up the entire house with horrible foot odor smell. It was so disgusting.

Yes ninja, but I use a deodorant for my armpits that "kills" sweat (literally I can run on a threadmill for 45 min and still be 100% dry) and it makes me sweat from the feet instead. Its great for not having those marks if going to a hot club with only a shirt, but you need to take care of your shoes more. Better inside the shoes then having big marks of sweat around the armpits in a hot club, right? :)

Good posts fellas.

As for the knock of timberlands I suggest you remove the laces, put them in a "cleaning bag" and then inside the washmachine, and then use moist cloth to scrub them semi-gently to remove all kind of exterior filth from them.
