I would never say that I don't dress decent to go to school(senior in high school), but I really blend in with everyone else, usually wearing stuff from american eagle, holister and abercrombie. What could I start wearing to put myself above everyone else though, not in a peacocking sort of way, but just to have people say damn that kid dresses well. I was thinking about getting stuff from armani exchange and express, places like that. I'm not trying to make myself look like I'm going to a fashion show, I just wanna look nice. Also what do you guys think about watches and jewelry? Any input at all would be greatly appreciated :)

Also what should I do about my hair? Just find something I like and go with that?

The men's section of Forever 21 (yes, it does exist) has really nice-looking clothes that strays from the entire AE/HCO/A&F look without going overboard, plus it costs less than Armani Exchange (mostly). Pretty much dress in stuff other than the basic 'T-shirt + jeans + tennis shoes' and you'll stand out.

If you have some cash, you can try Armani Exchange, Express, Banana Republic, Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, etc... Most kids in high school don't wear those brands, or in MY college for that matter. Try out a few of each, see what you like.

In my opinion fretting over your attire is not productive..what matters most is how you carry yourself in your attire, you could wear the flashiest armani clothes and nicest sneakers at your high school and still fail at the game,
but, as a DJ who frequently goes to events where everyone is wearing top-dollar clothing I would recommend finding a designer clothing store online or in your local town, picking up some fresh tees and then buying some slick basketball shoes..and you should fare well as far as your attire is concerned
just purchase things you feel comfortable in that will make you feel confident about yourself without sacrificing much money
that is how I would approach it

in highschool looks play a good role then in adulthood.

preferably i dont dress to impress

what i do is.

Wear Just Right Fitting Clothes
Unpopular Brands

If they ask about how your dressed.
Or where you got a shirt or clothe piece

Tell them your mom or dad still dresses you.
Or My Parents still buy my clothes, you want me to ask them?
or short (Hold on ill ask my parents)

1. Unpopular brands
2. Fit Right Clothes
3. Every other 2 weeks, dress gangster (but dont go too extreme)

Some of the brands you might want to try as far as clothing: American Eagle, Affliction, Armani Exchange, and Ralph Lauren. For shoes I would go with some Nike Air Max 90's, Air Jordan IV's, any Timberlands will work, and Polo Sport boots. As, far as jewlry goes, I wouldnt over-do it. I wear a pretty thin gold chain with a small cross on it, thats about it.

I like white shoes, but you may have different taste. Right now I have white "Original" Adidas with the black stripes and everything. Before that, I had white K-Swiss's. I like the "casual" style shoes, they work better for me.

These are my current kicks...

I would also suggest adding some vintage clothes to your collection.

They're always one of a kind.

A good vintage t-shirt is indispensable.

I am also in highschool and one thing i really like to use is crew neck sweaters. I have a few that are striped with weird colors or are kinda over the top, people seem to love them. As for shoes, i wear Nike SB's or Vans, they are simple and go with everything. Try to look well put together without matching all the colors in your outfit, any shirt with dark jeans and black shoes and maybe a black hat will make you look put together without being over the top with matching.

Yeah Ive got a gold Timex with a black face. It only cost $50 and I got it at Kmart and it works just fine. I wear 2 gold chains, 1 with a cross the other with an italian horn, and a silver ring that my grandpa made. Jewelry in my opinion is good, Ive never met a girl that hasnt liked any of my jewelry so I would suggest to get some.

there are 2 approaches, i tend to mix both of them.
1: top brands that everyone knows
2: cool brands not many people have heard of. (threadless.com is a good 1)

i like to mix them both, skate shoes, pants from exspress, armani button up (only like 3 buttons done so people can see the undershirt), treadless or like dc or fox undershirt, then necklaces and bracelets from A.E. or Abercrombie.

also mabye get some clothes from ed hardey, big top name, alot of people know it and alot dont

the key is look good but not like everyone else, most people if they dress prep or skater thats all they wear, dont be afraid to mix and match styles.

i your planning to stand out and not look flamboyant i have to suggest just thinking about what kind of fashion groups are popular with the group that your going to be seen with or w/e and taking a different one. if im going clubbing with my lacrosse team (all jocks, ie: polo's jeans, pink shirts, sport shoes, etc.) i tend to stay away from that throw in a little more casual and or punkish look with skinnier jeans (i don't really care much for skinnies), casual shoes, not quite dress shoes but the bowling style brown leather, either a button up nice shirt or again a punkish attitude t-shirt. i dont look out of place i just look different. on jewlery i always wear a necklace. like the ones you can find at bootlegger or something (metal, shorter or brown and shorter). and i have a steel tommy hilfiger watch that is nice, look for watch's like those in sales i got mine for half price (60$).

i have to say though i am looking for some real peacocking ideas, something that stands out yet still looks good in place. i've tried a blue hard hat, which works like a charm btw, but looks funny. anybody try something more subtle that worked?
