Esquire Magazine is running a piece about this season's shoe trends:

Bold colours are very much in:

Sure they're cool but I can't help but feel these colours will look pretty dated very fast and I don't want to spend $700 on a pair of shoes for only one season.

Luckily on the very last page they have a tip for getting the look on the cheap:

just take your favorite pair of luxurious lace-ups and add some colored laces to them, available all over (including your local J.Crew) for just a few bucks this season. They'll look even better when the shoes wear in a little.

Nice post, I like the idea about adding some coloured laces. May try that on a pair I have

All of those shoe colors reek of "metro-sexual". You'd be better suited to finding a shopping partner then a passionate sex filled night.

Agreed. Todays media is pushing towards that all the time. Imho for a man thats too much. Men should be men, not barbie dolls.

yea I like to be stylish when possible but I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing that kind of thing. It's a little too gay to get away with. I actually have a hard time finding good clothes and especially shoes with a budget that fit my style. I need to do more research but so many popular brands have such ugly clothes that it's hard to shop.

I feel like by wearing most of these shoes you are craving attention too hard. This is coming from a guy who wear yellow and even red shorts in the spring. They are just way too much for me, and almost seems like you are insecure and trying to prove yourself. But then again thats just my 2 cents.

Those are fugly.

Remember fashion is ugly and models are paid to wear that shit.

Style is different to fashion and this is not style.

I could totally see that making sense for peacocking, but you can do that for way cheaper. IMHO if you're good you can make anything work style-wise, the man makes the clothes.

Think of style as a tool, a starting point. If you give a girl plenty to talk to you about, then you have won half of the battle of being interesting. At that point she's giving you IOIs for free, and you can move right into A3 a lot faster.

And if you're worried about what your friends think, well, it's hard to call a guy gay if he just walked out with a 10.

wow those are nice. Shoes are one of the better indicators if a guy is fashionable, but again you should wear whatever think is nice and not what other people think.

As with most things clothes wise if you wore them with confidence then they would look good. Shoes are always a good investment, never ever skimp on shoes. I probably get more compliments on my shoes than anything else i wear.

I think they are fugly. but that's me. I would never wear such a thing. Really not my style. I admit it would be great for others.
