My life story in the quickest summary I can make is that a voice like mine is a cockblock at life

My voice is monotone and all around weird. It doesn't It sounds fine to me most of the time and I could make it fluctuate to me but to others there is no change. I am never taken seriously when I want to and taken seriously when I am joking. I have endlessly been told to be more expressive and I am, but what sounds to me like a changing voice does not project out. A common thing, getting ignored and watching somebody say the same thing later and get praised for it.

Speaking is the center of our communication and I have a severe disadvantage here. Before anybody tells me to be confident let me just say that unless we emit pheromones through confidence than there is nothing but myth in that old saying. I have countless times subconsciously been myself feeling just fine and I would end up getting torment over the voice.

How many PUA manuals say "You don't need to look good, you could be a short fat bald person and get laid" but they never address voice tone. Seems to me like I am in a very small boat. Unless I am 6'2" and ripped like Arnold I don't see how any game can compensate for the voice. Either I need to somehow grow taller and jump on a cycle or I need to fix this voice, which I never found anything for this issue. If I look up voice I get singing lessons and foreign accent lessons which consist of speaking slower and that is only MORE monotone, also there are great singers with odd speaking voices.

What can I do?

high average height, mad thin, wimpy jawline. I have the body of a streotyped nerd with no testosterone (even though I can lift way more than an average joe, and my test is high) and the voice now with everything else sets all the wrong stereotypes and associations, nothing like always being creepy!.

I need this voice help more than anything, I am convinced this is what is standing in the way of making **** finally work for me.

Next semester I have a communications class with a professor with the most amazing reviews, seems like some miracle man. I am hoping he has something, and an acting course which I am hoping the instructor for that has something I can do.

Dude, my normal voice has never been monotone, but i did used to mumble a lot and people couldn't hear me, and this was a problem because i do drama in school :D

So what i had to do was to project my voice from my stomach, this brings it out more clearly, so try that :D

And something which i also had to do to make my characters sound more convincing is to make my voices a bit surreal, like I had to do a Chicago accent, which was kind of monotone, and i was really bad at it, so i watched movies with chicago accents, and i picked it up better and then when i wanted to sound happy or angry, this was when i made it sound surreal, i over-did the emotions, instead of sounding happy when i was supposed to, i sounded super happy, because i couldn't be JUST happy, and then while practicing this i could change my voice and it came second nature to me, so that i could be JUST happy :D

It's like what Neil Strauss said "Two Steps Forward, One Step Back"

I'm sorry if i got the above Statement wrong lol, but he did say something like that

Hope This Helps,

Peace,

Troyden :D

When I project myself louder it is more often perceived as fake, it makes things worse actually.

I am at Vin Diesels height so if I could get ripped enough and somehow deepen my voice significantly I could try and mimic his voice, otherwise my only bet is to talk super fast which makes me let off a new york accent but I would run out of things to say quick, and I would also seem to quick. even than my voice isn't normal.

Dude, talking too fast is the worst thing that you could do,

If you talk too fast, people will not understand you, and will use interest in what you say, but what you said is exactly what i'm trying to say, :D

You said it will be perceived as fake, but that's what i do, i try to display the emotions i have to make in a different accent, twice as much as i should display it, because then even i will perceive it as fake because i know it is fake, and then i will naturally develop a normal amount, that people will see as completely normal and it will become second nature to me :D

Just try it dude, you will have to practice it in your house, preferably in front of a mirror to make sure you don't look like an idiot when you talking properly

It will help, all you have to do is practice, remember the phrase,

"Two Steps Forward, One Step Back" :D

Hope This Helps,

Peace,

Troyden :D
