I am in Kentucky and some people tell me I have a stronger than usual accent. It is probably because I am in Louisville, but my dad is from central, very very rural Kentucky and his speech pattern has obviously influenced me greatly. Of course it is stronger around my family, but it still pretty noticeable elsewhere. (I say y'all almost every sentence)

This isn't a problem here, because everybody sounds pretty similar to me, or at least I am in the majority, but what about if I go out of state? I am not planning it in the near future, but when I do, what do I do about it? I like my voice, I am not ashamed at all, I am just trying to get laid lol and I don't know if girls will automatically make assumptions about me.

I went to London a year ago and noticed that people seemed to stare when I spoke, but I was probably just being overly self-conscious.

Basically my question is whether girls in other regions and countries will find me unappealing solely by my voice. (I know it is hard to answer when you haven't actually )heard it)

Yeah that's true, KY girls looove foreign accents. I guess I just never thought that it might work in reverse too...

I have a New Orleans accent, and consider it one of my best assets. If you carry yourself with confidence, your accent will set you apart, and give you an air of mysteriousness. A lot of times, after an opener, I find that women want to ask me about my accent, setting me up perfectly for a whole bunch of attractive conversation options.
