Me and my friends came to the realization that parties don't have to be labeled costume to be such. We have made a habit of going to regular house parties in costume, the more elaborate the better.

Our typical favorite is to show up late, 3 pirates, cutlasses and all, and walk into a normal party. Act like nothing is the matter, and claim that we actually are pirates. It's hilarious, women aside, and it gets you attention like nobodies buisness. We just have fun with it. I probably wouldn't do it alone.

It also provides good social proofing to be one of 3 pirates, all of which are talking confidently in 3 different groups of people.

Yeah, I like it. And honestly, pirates are far more acceptable than most other costumes so you kinda split the difference.

That is very true, and why we go for pirates. We've done a few others, but haven't found anything that is equally acceptable while being equally elaborate.

I intend to make the post Halloween sales a fruitful period.

This friday there's a party, and I think I'm going to wear my Crocodile skinned australian cowboy hat, and wear goggles around my neck, and my wingman will wear his cowboy hat (which is raffia styled). Idk how well it will work, but I think if we are cocky enough it should be fine. We are also in a rock band, and people who already know us will just be like "Oh he's in a rock band." So they won't be looking at us like wtf, trying to lower our social value.

Bit maffia-style suits would work nice aswel. just go with the insanely pumped up shoulders, mob hat, big cigar, make sure the suit is either white with black stripes or black with white stripes for the best result.
