as anyone here familiar with body language knows, a dilated pupil is a sign that the person, in a way, likes what he's seeing. also the pupils are an independent organ so its not for the person to control like other IOIs.


now, I know that this will sound a bit stupid taking into account what I just said, but is it always a definite IOI? like, contracted or normal pupils when HB doesn't like you and dilated when she does? Based in your experience (kind of doubting anyone ever bothered in that detail) or thoughts, do the eyes confirm, beyond anything else, if she's interested?

I would love to say yes but the main function of them is to regulate light coming into her eyes so in clubs etc it could be irrelevant. Other IOIs are more reliable and also subconscious.
If you are isolated and there is a change in pupil size then you are probably in, however it seems like a lot of hard work. If you are staring into her eyes and making loads of eye contact that is an IOI in itself.

I ain't talking about infield game but in general, like in a cafe or in a common friend's house. in nightclubs and stuff surely it won't make that big of a difference but the main reason I'm asking is because a few days ago we were with some friends drinking and there was a german chick who not only that night but in several situations she gave me IOIs. however, later that very night I notice her pupils perfectly normal, so that kind of confuses me a bit... as it is (supposed to be) a fool proof IOI

Pupils are not a very good way to tell if a girl is interested in you or not. The dilation is totally a sub conscious thing and besides them adjusting to light they can also be effect by any drugs/medication the girl is taken. As some drugs/medication can effect the size of your pupils.

I tested this out and played a staring contest with a girl at school (it was my friend so it wasn't creepy or anything). I knew she liked me, but I just wanted to test the theory. As I expected, they did dilate. Then I left her and came back and noticed her pupils were a little contracted, so I played another staring contest and they dilated again.

Try it out for yourself it's pretty cool.

Dilated pupils can also mean that the person is under the influence of ecstacy.

Or amphetamine, methamphetamine, cocaine etc..

Lol but u can see a huge difference between someone with 'lovely eyes' and someone on XTC. The one on XTC will have huge dilated pupils even in daylight, and will be acting nervous, like pulling weird faces, would also probably sweat a lot, and their eyes might roll back if it's a high dose MDMA.

Out of curiosity, how do you notice this? I have never noticed this in my life. Theres so many factors at work and different people have different pupil sizes. Theres the light/darkness factor. And whats visually stimulating in the immediate background as well. Her mood and whatever she may be intoxicated on can also affect it I believe. How do you guys notice it and how sure are you that its because of you that her eyes are increasing in size?

When you're reading body gestures, they are like words to sentence. You interpret them collectively to figure out if they're interested in you or not.

I think it is a definite IOI. You can always tell if it is because she is into you or just some other'light' factor. Its just the icing on the cake that confirms everything you already knew but felt unsure about!

My pupils are always dilate, i cant help it, i dont do drugs, and i really cant explain why they dilate, but i guess it could be a plus, as the girl may think im really into her? =]

But when i start to build up my confidence to talk to girls i dont know, i will look for this =]

Jake you may suffer from Mydriasis, a condition in wich pupils are always dilated, which can be for different causes
