So I have started my first year in college and I have noticed that I really don't dress like any other college students. So I want to know do you guys think I need to change some of my clothers up or what? The reason I ask is because I have been asked four times already if I'm gay,not because I act like I'm gay but the girls that have asked me just say that not that many college guys dress like I do.Ok so when I'm just hanging out with my roommates I wear like a rugby shirt and some shorts. But when we have partys I will dress in a nice polo or shirt and some jeans from like D&G, Armani,Louis Vuttion,or Versace,A&F,Hollister. With nice puma's or Louis Vuttion loafers.

Do you think I should change my style alittle or what?I have always dressed like this too.

One of the biggest reasons most of the other students don't dress like you is because they're students and they can't afford to dress like you do - that stuff is not cheap, especially if you're living off student loans. As a freshman, there might be more pressure to have a wardrobe full of t-shirts, torn jeans, and track pants, but you'll find as you progress at college, more guys will start dressing better, and dressing well will matter more to women. However, as was mentioned in another post, part of dressing well means appealing to the style of your environment, and style only counts if the people your are trying to appeal to recognize it. If you find that women are not taking you seriously because of your clothes, maybe it wouldn't hurt to dress down more often (I've built up a whole casual "side wardrobe" for when I go out with a certain group of friends), while still getting nice clothes within that style. Otherwise, enjoy the fact that you're dressing how most guys will be wishing they could dress in a few years.

the guy above was right about people becoming more stylish, at my uni most people dress cheap but stylish (in the sense of dressing uniquely) but as people learn to look after their money better and don't drink everyday there is more money for clothes.

I dont see anything wrong with the style you described. You might not look like everyone else, but then again, thats the point. As long as you're original (and not tacky), than you've got nothing to worry about.

hmm too trendy.

and tight jeans i dont support. normal fitting jeans will get u all the girls. tight fitting jeans disqual u from the preppy girls, the (pardon my steriotype) uh.. thug girls??? um u kno

regular fitting jeans bro. like cliff jeans from guess

good place to start really

depends on your body type tho.

if u dress too trendy, girls might think your gay, and if u have a trendy or emo hairstyle. i try to always look good, be a little fashionable, and even less trendy

What is wrong with being trendy? Let alone overly trendy? If the clothes the guy wears suits his style and personality then all the better for him.

dude LV gets you babes trust

i mix it up between seeing girls like after playing basketball and in higher setings wearing LV, Gucci, Armarni although i always wear armarni aqua di gio. So they dont think im just some rich mother fucker who shows off but that i will wear my grade 9 basketball pants cause I dont give a fuck.

But if they say are you gay just be like I wouldnt remove myself from the gene pool that would just be selfish of me plus Id hate to see all you girls lose hope that ive gone to the darkside

You're almost got it my friend. And if you were a grad student this would not be a problem. Ignore being told to wear track pants. That's sloppy and girls will not be attracted. You're jeans are amazing but a little too designer. If you've got the money, which it sounds like you do, go for some Rock and Republics, Sevens, Citizens, or True Religions. These show that you're stylish but they also convey a younger age. Make sure they're not too skinny. Skinny jeans are a foolish fad that are bound to be recognized soon. The whole hipster phase is starting to lose momentum. Also, get yourself some loud T-shirts. Affliction makes great T-shirts that make a loud statement, and also represent a more rough bad-ass heterosexual look.
